It has been said that it is exhausted. The meaning of the words is that, following the reasoning, there is no arising. This refers to showing that very thing, the meaning of this word is that there is no arising in the ultimate sense. Apply the same to others as well. Etc., these are easy to understand. The opponents, those who speak of entities, consider arising etc. to be desirable, and mentioning "etc." is to include abiding etc. If someone wonders what it is like, it is said, "dependent on the path of reasoning." It is said, "for whom" it is said, "for things," because form etc., the very nature of relying on the path of wisdom, is seen as being without self-nature. If one refutes, then what harm is there in seeing it as being without self-nature? What harm is there? This sentence says that for the vows made by others, saying that there are harms that contradict direct perception, inference, one's own words, numbers, and scriptures, is impossible. Like this, those that abide in the way that arising etc. appear, for what reason would they contradict direct perception etc.? That way, it will not be refuted. It will be refuted according to reason, just as the establishment of arising etc. that others have completely discriminated, those are also not direct perception, so how can they contradict? For the phrase "arising in the ultimate sense," logicians will refute based on how others completely discriminate the meaning of the word "ultimate." If that is the case, then the master Dharmakirti, for the phrase "not truly arising," saying what the meaning of the word "ultimate" is, etc., that harm is impossible for this, thinking "what harm is there" and said it. Like this, for the phrase "arising in the ultimate sense," the meaning of the word "ultimate," what is the worldly establishment, that is what the logician will refute. That is, again, because he wants to explain Subhuti etc., the words of the sutra below will appear, therefore he said, "because of that very thing," for what reason the ultimate and...

For this reason. Because of stating conventional truth as the term for ultimate truth. It is said, "conventional truth," and so on. Suchness is indeed the nature. Why is it thought that the two, conventional truth and ultimate truth, are not different? It is said, "reason is also," and so on. If that is the case, then reason is also merely conventional truth. Why? Because it is the nature of appearing as it is. Why is that? It is said, "reason is," and so on. Why doesn't consciousness enter into something else? It is said, "like this," and so on. This liberates. It should be added that inference and what is to be inferred arise. How is it? It is the dharma of appearance for proponents and opponents. If you ask me, it is about the nature of mind. How is it? It is established as the subject, the predicate, and the example itself. Otherwise, it should be added that it does not arise. Why? Because inference cannot arise. How is it? Because neither is established. Which ones? The subject, the predicate, and so on. By saying "and so on," it includes the example. Why is it that neither is established? Because in the statement, in the subject, the predicate, and the example, there is no sameness of mind. Whose minds have no sameness? Those who abide in different tenets. A tenet is an established conclusion. Why is it like that? Precisely because of that, abiding in such a subject that appears to the mind, those who contemplate things, only with such a reason that appears to the mind, is this that appears to the mind truly existent or not? One should commit to contemplating whether it relies on things or not. By saying "and so on," it includes the example. The one who speaks of reason is either a Madhyamika or a Sarvastivadin. If one does not examine the part that appears to the mind, one will be delighted. If one insists on preventing the analysis of other births, etc., if inference arises, what will be prevented? It shows that no one prevents who abandons. Because this thing has been widely determined to be established in sameness, fearing multiplicity, here is this.
