One certainty is also not established, because it is only impermanent. It is not both, because the faults of arranging them separately would occur here. If it is not possible separately, then it is not possible to gather them together, because a hundred blind people cannot see. Just as one grain of sand cannot produce oil, gathering many cannot either, just like that. Things go from the past world to the present, from the present to the future, saying the three times like this, is said after understanding, it is not produced slightly from other times and directions, it does not stay in the present, and it will not go from that to the future. Because if it were like that, even gathering would become constant, because it is constantly existing, it is only the present. The nature is constantly existing, but it is not desired that things are constant, things are not other than nature. The conduct of the self-empowered, is clarified by this. This is a summary of the Sarvastivadins. Like that, transcending the three times, what is the difference between this and illusion? The truth that is done by ignorance, this and the elephant etc. conjured by the illusionist, this that arises from cause has no self-nature, there is no difference. That itself says, consciousness etc. conjured by illusion, and this that is done by the famous cause in the world, where does this arise from? Where does it go at the time of cessation, it should be examined with subtle reasoning. Then how is it not true that it is produced by cause? Answer: Whatever etc. A thing is seen when it is near the cause, and not seen when it is not there. Relying on others, it is similar to the image in a mirror, if there is a mirror, the face can be seen, if there is no mirror, it cannot be seen. Likewise, things are also related to the distance of the cause. Because what is done relying on others is not self-nature, where is there truth? Furthermore, the entity of oneself and others, does the cause produce things as existent, or non-existent, or does it produce the nature of both? Regarding this, what is the need for a cause for what exists before the action of the cause? For the sake of completion. The second explanation says: But if that is non-existent, then what does the cause do? Like a rabbit's horn, there is no action of cause for what is non-existent. Then is non-existence itself not produced from cause? Answer: Non-things like space cannot be transformed even by hundreds of millions of causes, because they have no form. Suppose it is a thing, answer: Th

How can non-existence become existence? If it is said that it comes from the transformation of non-existence, the answer is: what is it that transforms from non-existence into existence? Because eating food and so on will prevent the complete ripening of the cause. If it is said that existence arises from the transformation of what was previously non-existent, the answer is: if existence does not arise when there is non-existence, then when will existence arise? Because of the strong contradiction of non-existence, the ultimate truth cannot cause existence to arise. If it is said that the arising and ceasing existence can dispel non-existence, the answer is: as long as existence has not arisen, non-existence will not recede, so before existence arises, the previous non-existence will not separate. If non-existence has not receded, existence arises. After arising, because of the contradiction, it dispels non-existence, the answer is: for example, non-existence and so on. If non-existence has not receded, there is no chance for existence, because there is contradictory non-existence. In the ultimate truth, it is said that the arising of existence ceases, and there is no dispelling of arising, nor does it become non-existence, just as non-existence does not become existence. Why is that? Because it would become two natures. Because it is impossible for a single entity to have both existence and non-existence at the same time. Briefly speaking, according to the order of this explanation, there is no arising and ceasing. Because there is no ceasing, it is not existence either, because it is always unarisen and unceased. Therefore, all these phenomena are without self-nature. Then, what is the conventional truth like? The answer is: the categories of hell and so on, the conventional truth is like seeing oneself being born in a state of sleep. It is the same for conventional delusion. Therefore, conventionality is like a dream. The ultimate truth is without arising. If analyzed carefully, it is like a water bubble. Because all dharmas are without self-nature, they are without essence like water bubbles. Because in the ultimate truth, all dharmas have neither arising nor ceasing. Therefore, Nirvana is abandoning afflictions and cognitive obscurations, and non-Nirvana is when the mind is controlled by afflictions such as desire. There is no distinction between these two in the ultimate truth, but in the conventional truth, there is a distinction because of examining the arising of afflictions and so on. Explain afflictions and so on with the spoken reasoning.
