Nor is it, because it has passed away at that time. Nor is it simultaneous, because it did not benefit this. As it is said in the scriptures, the object that has become an illusion is not an object, because not producing benefit is not an object. Nor is it oneself, because it is the basis of dispute. Therefore, it is said that self-cognition is impossible. Whatever is "when" etc. It can be as clear as a lamp, or as unclear as a vase. Since beings only experience objects, when is the mind seen by anyone? If oneself or other sentient beings see it, then say so. What is the color and shape of the mind? At that time, it is like the proud posture of the daughter of a demoness. Speaking of self-cognition is also fruitless. The opponent says: If etc. If consciousness does not have self-cognition, then how does consciousness remember at that time? If the experience is clear, then memory arises, but if there is no experience, from where does memory arise? The answer is: If memory is definitely produced by self-cognition, just like fire has smoke, then it is like that at that time, but self-cognition is not established, then how are it, action, and agent established? For me, it is through experiencing others etc. When experiencing other objects from the grasping consciousness, consciousness will produce memory. If experiencing others remembers others, there is also no fault of being too excessive, because there is a connection. The thing produced by the object is the memory of consciousness. Remembering the object together with the experience. Experiencing the object is consciousness itself. Even so, if there is no experience of consciousness, how can one remember? The answer is: Like the poison of a mouse that can be remembered. Here, the mouse is smeared with poison, and its poison causes the wound of fainting to be previously distributed on the body, and it will recur at other times when thunder sounds. The idea is like this: Just as the poison does not erupt during fainting, but the poison erupts at other times. When experiencing the object, even if consciousness is not experienced, it will be remembered at other times, just like the consciousness of wounds from walking and buckwheat etc. The Mind-Only school says: Condition etc. Other conditions are subduing wisdom etc., and knowing the minds of others etc. with supernormal powers. Seeing those who have supernormal powers, do you say there is self-cognition? The answer is: Seeing the collection of accomplished eye medicine, a treasure vase buried underground will not become eye medicine, because whatever appears to what, that is itself.

does not change. By means of consciousness endowed with conditions such as bestowing wisdom, although one sees the minds of others like vases, etc., that does not establish as self-cognizance. If the mind seen by the direct perception that knows the minds of others becomes direct perception, then, at that time, one's own self-cognizance establishes self-cognizance, which does not exist. If consciousness is not experienced, then things will not be experienced. Because if it is not experienced, things will not be clear. The explanation for this is that consciousness is the object of realization. If that is the case, then the vase will also make the cloth clear. If consciousness is known by others, there is no end. Therefore, whatever he said, such as others' experiences, is unreasonable because there is no experience of things. The terms such as seeing will also disappear in the world. Here is the answer: as it is, and so on. Will the meaning of terms such as seeing disappear in the ultimate sense? Or will it disappear in the conventional sense? If you say it will disappear in the ultimate sense, that is what is desired. Because all conventionalities do not exist in that. If you say in the conventional sense, then at that time, how is seeing the eye consciousness and so on. Hearing is from others and from the body. Knowing is from the inference arising from the three modes of reasoning. It is not that all these are to be negated, but rather, without examination, abide well. It is not in the ultimate sense. Because it is said: Seeing and hearing, etc., were not spoken by the Victorious One as true or false. Because there are contradictory factors, the two do not exist in meaning. Thus it is said. If it is not known, then the faults such as not understanding things do not exist in the ultimate sense. Others say: If you accept terminology, then what do you prevent? The answer is: Realizing in the ultimate sense is to reverse imputation. Why? Because it is the cause of suffering. Because the nature of the aggregates of suffering, the cause of samsara, fear, etc., are the cause of conceptualizations, so the untrue imputations, etc., are to be reversed. Therefore, awareness, self-awareness, does not exist in the ultimate sense. He said: The object to be realized and the subject to be realized, the mind with aspects, was not seen by the Victorious Ones. Wherever there is an object to be realized and a subject to be realized, there is no enlightenment. Thus it is said. Whatever is said to be mind-only, that should be understood like the aggregates, etc. Location.
