Nato. Just as when the blood of a dull mind enters, poison spreads throughout the body, so when the mind finds a gap, faults spread, so be careful. Like an imprudent person holding a vessel filled with black oil who slips, and is ordered by a cruel king that if a drop falls he will be killed, and is guarded by the king's men holding swords. That person walks cautiously for fear of death, so one should subdue the senses through asceticism. Therefore, just as when a poisonous snake enters one's bosom, one thinks, 'May I not become dull,' and like a person who thinks of getting up quickly, one should get up when sleep and laziness arise, and one should teach the Dharma, recite, eat, drink, and so on. Even if one does that, if a single fault occurs to a beginner, one should also reproach oneself, and one should think about what means to do, and what to do so that these things do not happen again. If one does not know oneself, one should rely on a Khenpo or Acharya who can show the means and abide by them. Or, karma is oral instruction. What should one do so that when afflictions arise, one becomes accustomed to mindfulness and so on? It has been said that one should subdue, and immediately remember the words of caution that were spoken, and just as before karma arises, everything has the power to transform, one should lighten the body and mind by becoming accustomed to diligence. The analogy and benefit of that itself have been explained: just as cotton is controlled by the wind going and coming, because it is light, so too, it will be controlled by joy, and after becoming accustomed to that, miraculous powers will also arise. The explanation of the meaning of the chapter on diligence, called 'Special Illumination,' is the seventh (chapter). One should seek patience and listening. Then one should live in the forest. One should strive for equanimity, and one should meditate on the impure and so on. Thus it was said, and meditation was explained. One should increase joy through the order of what has been said, and one should stabilize the mind in samadhi. Because a person whose mind is distracted dwells between the teeth of the Rakshasa of afflictions. To this, it was said to abandon distraction, which is the opposite of samadhi, the body and so on. The solitude of the body is to live in solitude. The solitude of the mind is to abandon thoughts of desire and so on. That is to meditate on emptiness.

Therefore, one should abandon the world, focus on emptiness, and eliminate all conceptual thoughts. Among these, the cause of not abandoning the world is explained as something that should be abandoned. Attachment to self and what belongs to self is clinging. Clinging to this, as well as clinging to gain, and through the word "etc." included are respect and fame, etc., thus one does not abandon the world. Therefore, in order to abandon clinging and gain, etc., the wise should explain it in this way, one should contemplate. Tranquility is the one-pointedness of mind. Insight is the wisdom that focuses on suchness. Knowing that possessing these two destroys afflictions, one should first seek tranquility. And this also requires not relying on the world, but being delighted in meditation to achieve it. Among these, it is explained that clinging should be abandoned. Whoever possesses wisdom, being impermanent themselves, should not cling to impermanent things such as sons and wives. What is the reason? What is loved for thousands of lifetimes will not be seen again, because it is destroyed by impermanence. Because it brings joy, it is beloved. But here it is said that it does not exist. Because it is not seen, one will not be happy. Without happiness, one will not abide in samadhi. Even if seen, one will not be satisfied. As before, becoming more attached will lead to suffering. Without insight, one cannot see suchness. Clinging to what is loved will not give rise to renunciation of samsara. Even a brief separation will cause torment due to its sorrow. Because of craving for what is loved and for reunion. Thinking of reuniting with it, and meditating on its qualities, one will waste life meaninglessly. Because there is no virtue. For the sake of impermanent friends, the permanent Dharma is abandoned. In order to follow from one life to another. Furthermore, if one acts together with children, one will surely fall into the lower realms, because one's behavior is similar to theirs. If one follows the noble ones, then they will not like you. Because the behavior is inconsistent. Therefore, what is the use of these causes of decline in both worlds? Furthermore, for one's own benefit, one becomes intimate in an instant. Likewise, one becomes an enemy in an instant, if one does not follow them. One also becomes angry at the place of happiness, because of delusion. Therefore, it is difficult to please those who are not noble. Furthermore, if one teaches what is beneficial, they become angry, because they do not understand. On the contrary, I too must withdraw from what is beneficial.
