Now it is possible to accomplish. There are three kinds of faith that are desired. To have faith that things like cause and effect are not deceptive and exist, to have faith of joy in the Buddhas and others who possess qualities, and to have faith of desire in Bodhi, which has diligence and can be accomplished. The relationship is: the treatise and the meaning of what is needed, the basis of the relationship lies in the two. Therefore, the treatise is included in this, so the meaning of what is needed is not explained separately. The treatise is the "Bodhicharyavatara," and what is needed is to be proficient in its meaning. The relationship between the two is the nature of the method and what arises from the method. Because the meaning is understood from the words through the power of symbols. Attaining Buddhahood through practices such as generating the supreme Bodhicitta is not the realm of ordinary people's behavior. If an unintelligent person seeks the meaning of the teachings, there is a doubt of being deceived. Some people want to have wisdom, therefore, in order to accomplish the scriptures. Because he speaks, only the Buddha's scriptures should be accepted, so it is said "according to the teachings." A holy person who is free from all faults is a valid person, what he says is the teaching, because it does not contradict the teaching. Just as earth and so on are not to be accepted, if the body of a deity is made by him, just as holy beings are worthy of offering, it is reasonable for me to accept based on the teachings. Abandon self-satisfaction with wisdom. If that is the case, then entering the teachings themselves, is it meaningless to enter the treatise? What is said here is briefly, because of the different objects to be tamed, the contents that are extensively explained in various aspects in different treatises. Here, because the treatise is brief, it is explained briefly, easy to understand, thereby eliminating unnecessary wrong views. Abandon pride with two verses, such as "never happened before" and so on. I cannot say anything more than the scriptures of the Bhagavan, nor am I good at combining the chapters of the treatise with the distinction of poetry. Therefore, I did not write for others. Therefore, in order to meditate in my own mind, in order not to forget the teachings of the Guru, I wrote this treatise. Its meaning is that if you add anything more than what the Bhagavan said on the path to liberation, you will go astray. There is nothing to be removed in this, and there is nothing to be added. Look at reality as it is, and after seeing reality, you will be liberated. Thus it is said.

Therefore. The meaning of this is that it is beyond the world, so it is difficult to understand. If it is difficult to understand with a collection of poems, then it will become something that cannot be done, so the sections are not combined. It is said: If the mind is disturbed by doubt, then the supreme secret mantra will become perverse. Therefore, he explained his own certainty, that he has no doubt about the meaning of the other shore beyond the world. Therefore, those who wish to obtain liberation from the definite meaning arising from their own wisdom, the lama, and the scriptures, I have done this for the sake of meditating in their own minds. It is for the sake of clarifying the meaning when practice is completed. This is the statement of the limb that leads others by meaning. If you say, what is the use of writing scriptures with the cause of distraction to make the mind practice with the differences in your own mind? He said: So-called virtue, etc. It is not possible to destroy the disturbing emotions by merely hearing it. If you are not diligent, you will forget what you have heard. Briefly, the order is that the benefits of bodhicitta, etc., mentioned here are repeatedly directed to manifestation, so virtue is for the sake of meditating on generating the mind of supreme bodhi, etc. The power of the initial faith is particularly superior, from which the nature of reality will be realized. Its growth is particularly superior. If one has the same fortune as me, that is, one who is of low intelligence. Or, like me, he has the lineage of the Great Vehicle. Why? Maitreya said: Who has faith in the supreme Great Vehicle? Ma (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) is wisdom, the cause of generating the Dharma of the Buddha. Mama (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) is compassion, mama (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) is the bliss of meditation. Whoever it is, he is the son born after the Able One. So it is said. Why? A virtuous person becomes more and more virtuous to a wise person. For the unworthy, it becomes a fault. The water of the eight limbs flows into the river, and that water becomes undrinkable when it enters the sea. So it is said. If others see this treatise, then at that time it will become meaningful by doing things that benefit others. This is also teaching the disciples, why? Why don't ignorant beings rely on this? It will be explained like this. Dharmakirti also said: Most beings are attached to the ordinary and have no power of wisdom, so for the well-spoken Dharma, not only do they not seek its meaning, but they also become jealous.
