Especially becomes brave. Others faint even seeing someone else's blood, because of fear. These two are heart and strength, and arising from the absence of these, therefore not being overcome by suffering, one should overcome harm. Even if suffering arises, that of suffering does not exist, because of selflessness, arising from dependent origination, knowing impermanence as mere feeling, one should not abandon great joy in the Dharma. Because one is striving to wage war with the enemies of afflictions, harm there is inevitable. The enemy strikes, one endures with the chest, whoever defeats the enemy, now that is the warrior to be praised. Others are like striking a fallen person, it is harm. Other qualities of suffering also have those that accord with the path, weariness of suffering can eliminate arrogance towards wealth etc., compassion arises for sentient beings possessing the suffering of samsara, knowing this to be the result of sin and fearing it, only the Victorious One is the teacher of the path of cessation of suffering, therefore desire arises for the Victorious One. Explaining the reason for patience, bile arising from the fault of food, and the mixture of wind and phlegm, these are the causes of great suffering, I do not get angry, because they have no consciousness, they do not intentionally cause suffering, however one should know that it arises from dependent origination. Since that is the case, one should not get angry at those with consciousness either, because they also get angry driven by the power of initial karma, as it is said in the sutras, driven by my karma. Explaining anger arising from conditions, just as unpleasant stinging arises from bile etc., anger arises from discomfort etc., dependence on the cause is the same. If one says that those with consciousness get angry intentionally, I cannot endure it, the answer is, no one gets angry thinking I will get angry, nor does one get angry thinking I will arise. However, it arises from that and that cause. Therefore, however many faults and various sins arise from the power of conditions, they are without autonomy. Hardship is also not intentionally produced, however the result arises from the completion of one's own cause. What has arisen is also produced by the aggregate of me.

Thus, there is no mind. However, when this exists, that arises; when this is born, that is born. Dependent arising is, One should examine it as 'grasping' and endure harm. There is also self-mastery, but how is it like the Samkhya's 'chief' and 'self'? It is said that the state where energy, particles, and darkness are equal is considered the chief of nature. If one examines what is 'self,' even thinking 'I should arise,' it does not arise. Because the chief and so on do not arise, how can one think there is arising like the son of a barren woman? Nothing at all arises, and if it is said that it arises merely as maturation and clarity, then how does maturation or clarity arise when they do not exist? The 'self' also does not lack this fault, because there is no arising for what is permanent. Like a rabbit's horn, it has the same fault. If it is unborn, then it does not exist, and at that time, what is it that one wants to arise? There is another fault in this: when the 'self' engages in the enjoyment given by the chief, it is unreasonable for the permanent, which did not enter before, to enter later. Entering is also enjoying the object, so it should not revert, because it is the nature of enjoying the object. The 'self' of reason and so on also has this fault. The difference from the Samkhya is that it has no mind. The permanent is always of one nature. By association with mind, it possesses mind. Like the sky, it is pervasive and without action. Because it is said: Here, the 'self' that others accept is the basis of desire and so on, its own nature is without mind, it is permanent and pervasive, it is the doer of good and non-good, it enjoys the fruits of karma, it possesses mind by the association of mind, but it is not its own. Thus. Therefore, it is only that it does nothing at all. If it is thought that it becomes the doer by the connection of consciousness and effort, then although consciousness and effort and so on are related to other conditions, because they are permanent, what action is there for the unchanging? As before, at the time of the doer, what benefit does it have for any action? There is no reason for the connection that this is the action of the 'self.' Therefore, there is no self-mastery. In short, it is said that by the reasoning that has been said, everything is other-powered, and from whatever cause it arises, that cause also depends on its own cause.

Having. From beginningless time, all dharmas are without a maker. Thus, like nirvana, all dharmas are devoid of a maker, how should the wise be angry? If there is no such autonomous being, with what does one prevent what? Is it not reasonable to prevent it because the reason is equal? The answer is that prevention is reasonable, for what reason is prevention, that is, relying on it to desire to cut off the stream of suffering. Therefore, hatred and the like are only to be prevented. Therefore, seeing an enemy or friend or one who does harm, one should determine that these causes have the aspect of harm, and desire happiness, and not do unpleasant things. If the meaning of beings is accomplished without cause and only according to one's own will, then who will not be born with suffering? For what reason, no one desires my suffering. It is said that patience is not to pay attention to the harm of others, and this is negligence to act without examination. One's own body, one's own self with thorny paths and the like, and anger for women and other rare things, for the sake of obtaining them, one abandons food and drink and causes harm. Falling and mountain cliffs and other imperfections, or entering into human diseases, or entering into water, or eating poison and unsuitable things, or being confused by eating too much, some people cause their own bodies to deteriorate. Also by doing non-virtuous deeds such as killing others. When, with the reason stated in this way, by the power of afflictions, even one's own pitiable self is killed, then how can they not harm the bodies of others? They are said to be vessels of compassion, intoxicated by afflictions, and those who enter into killing themselves with the reason stated, Without compassion, it is only a fault, how does anger arise? In the place of compassion, it is unreasonable. The means of patience is said, if the nature of all children is only to harm others, then I should not be angry with them, because the nature of fire is hot and burns. If that fault is not nature but is sudden, and sentient beings are determined by nature, then one should not be angry with them, just like the sky with unpleasant smoke. The unpleasant one is the sky
