It is impossible to obtain a human body like this to be used for virtue. Furthermore, if it is not obtained, only sin will arise, just as the gods also fight with the asuras. Moreover, when one has the ability but does not do good, what is the use of being tormented by the suffering of the three lower realms later? If one does not do good and accumulates sin, then the faults of nature, the ten non-virtues, are present in all six realms, so there is not even the sound of a good rebirth, and it will not occur even after millions of billions of kalpas. Therefore, the Victorious One said: It is difficult to obtain a human body free from unfavorable conditions. For example: In the great ocean, there is only one four-cubit yoke hole, like a one-eyed turtle's neck fitting into it. The sutra says: All of Jambudvipa becomes one great ocean, and there is a yoke hole there. The east wind blows it to the west end, and the west wind blows it to the east shore. Similarly, the south wind blows it to the north, and the north wind blows it to the south. In such an ocean, a one-eyed turtle rises from the bottom after a hundred years and looks up. Sometimes the yoke faces the direction without eyes, so it cannot see, and its neck fits into that hole. This is the analogy here. Why is that? It is said: In reality, the sin committed in a single moment, like causing a Tathagata to bleed with evil intentions, committing an irreversible crime, and staying in hell for a medium kalpa like Devadatta. From the sins accumulated since beginningless time, where is the chance to be born in a good realm? Even if the ripening of karma has passed, and one only experiences the karma and its result, the doer cannot be liberated from the suffering that arises from it. Why is that? Because he is experiencing it and will accumulate other sins. Regretting and saying that there is no other way to deceive oneself than this. What else is there besides ignorance? Even after obtaining such a leisure human body, if one is not accustomed to virtue, it is like having the wealth called virtue in hand but being robbed by others. Such a leisure human body is difficult to obtain, and after realizing the power of sin, if one becomes lazy due to the power of ignorance, then one will fall into hell.

And so on, one will long suffer grief. Just as the messengers of Yama previously say, "Why have you done this?" and threaten and beat, and so on. Furthermore, the fire of hell will burn me for a long time until I am reduced to ashes. That is extremely difficult to bear, why? Just as regret, like a fire, causes the untamed mind to suffer. How difficult it is to find the place of benefit after bad karma is exhausted! Even if one meets a virtuous friend and obtains it, one is knowingly led to that hell. Because one was previously accustomed to it, one accumulates such karma again. Having explained the truth of suffering, which is regret for existence, the origin is explained. Regarding this meaning, I am utterly without mind, as if bewildered by mantras. Who has made me ignorant? Who is within me? If it is said that there are afflictions, it is said: Without hands, feet, head, and neck, from existence again rejoicing in rebirth, accompanied by attachment, with the sounds of hatred and so on, dividing the latent tendencies of pride and so on into ten parts. One hundred and twenty who are neither heroes nor wise, why do they treat me like a slave? The antidote to these is the preliminary for the purpose of cultivating the path. Moreover, this is amazing, my own mind-basis, even though there is no fear or doubt arising for me. Those who harm, even to those who do such unreasonable things, I am not angry, this is the fault of believing in what is not the place. Even if gods and non-gods become enemies, they cannot kill me, nor can they lead me into the fire of the Avici hell. What is that fire like? It is said: Let alone others, even Mount Meru, the abode of the gods, when it encounters that fire, will be reduced to ashes, impossible to find, because it is extremely unbearable. In that fire, the powerful enemy of afflictions, by the cause of uninterrupted karma, is instantly abandoned. Why be angry at just these? It is said: Other enemies such as gods have lives as long as this, without beginning or end like samsara. How can they compare to the enemies of my afflictions? If all the gods and so on are satisfied according to their wishes, it will bring benefit. But if one follows afflictions, it will bring great suffering. Poisonous snake, do not indulge me!
