Etcetera. "Those" refers to the Sangha of non-retrogression. The word "and" means gathering. Goodness means the absence of inherent existence in the three spheres, and it is a distinction of offering or holding. What are those like? "Intention" means qualities, and the ocean of those is the source of precious qualities, offered to those. Now, the mental offering is explained: As many flowers as there are in the ten directions of the world that are not possessed, such as jasmine, champaka, sorrowless flowers, and so on, and fruits such as betel nuts, various medicines, jewels, pearls, corals, and other precious things, water with eight qualities, and whatever is pleasing, all are combined. Reaching to the end of the vast expanse of space, all those that are ungrasped, taking them with wisdom, I offer them well to the supreme of the able ones, and to all the sons. Thus, all are combined. The mountain of the nature of jewels, and likewise, is the meaning of gathering. Other than what has been said, the aspects of the forest that are delightful and suitable for solitude are concordant. Only beautiful flowers are ornaments, and the tender branches adorned with them, and the trees whose branches are bent close by the fruits that are complete with color, scent, and taste. The gods, such as the thirty-three, and so on, "and so on" refers to the world of nagas, and so on. There, the fragrance is musk, and so on, the incense is agarwood, and so on, the wish-fulfilling tree is coral, and so on, and the trees adorned with jewels. Because it arises from water, it is a water-born lotus, and that itself is whatever ornament it is, and ponds with swans whose sounds are pleasing, and crops that grow without plowing or sowing, such as rice, and so on. Others that have not been mentioned, that is, the ornaments to be offered, are all those that reach to the end of space, none of which are possessed by anyone. Taking them with the mind, I offer them to the supreme of the able ones, and to the Bodhisattvas. I request that you accept all these excellent offerings for the sake of compassion for the poor and suffering beings, and for your compassionate acceptance of me. So, are these just contemplations?

How then does one become a true offering? Are not harmful thoughts, greed, and wrong views conceptualizations? Why are they described as extremely negative actions? Why not offer one's own wealth? It is said, "I," and so on. Having not accumulated merit in the past, one has become very impoverished. Abundance arises solely from merit, and I have nothing other than mental offerings. Therefore, in order to increase my merit, may the protectors who possess compassion for the benefit of others accept these offerings by their power. I offer what is under my control, what I possess. In every way, without dependence, in the three circles without inherent existence, to the victorious ones who have conquered the afflictions and to their sons. Alas, supreme bodhisattvas, please completely accept me! I will be your servant, respectfully, for the sake of life. Now I will explain the qualities of what has been done: Because you hold me, relying on the great self, I will be fearless and benefit sentient beings in samsara. The word "again" means gathering. The sins committed in the past are purified through repentance and so on, and I vow not to commit them again in the future in the manner of vows. Now, I will explain the distinctions of the offerings in order, such as bathing and so on. In order to refresh those who have been invited from their respective places by mind, for example, delightful pillars of burning jewels, above which hang nets of pearls and curtains that make nets, and golden pillars with immaculate light, and palaces made for fragrant bathing, filled with delightful fragrant water, and thousands of jeweled vases filled with flowers, with which to bathe the tathagatas and bodhisattvas, preceded by song and music. After that, it is explained how to wipe off the bathwater, washing away all impurities, fumigating with agarwood and so on, and in order to make the touch soft, the bodies of the buddhas and so on are wiped with soft cloths including cotton. After that, offer those clothes that have been fumigated with very sweet incense. Offer garments that come from the heavenly realms, which are thin and soft, and beautiful with various colors, and various kinds of
