It is said, thinking that one will be liberated in that way. In response to this: Like this, after that, that is, after abandoning afflictions, liberation should be included. If one asks, what doubt is there about becoming liberation itself? It is not so. Why? It is said in response: Afflictions are mentioned, and even if there is no karma of afflictions, the power of the characteristics of the karma of striking Maudgalyāyana and others can be seen. Therefore, it is not the case that one will be liberated after abandoning afflictions. If someone argues that there is no cause for arising for those people either, therefore it is said, "How much." Certainty is certain in that way. The practitioner says, "This craving," that is, this craving is affliction, and even if it is not completely endowed with affliction, it is like being completely endowed with affliction, that is, like the consciousness of affliction, if it does not exist, just as it is said, "feeling," existence arises from the condition of feeling, because feeling also exists for those who are without desire, how can craving without cause not exist? Therefore, without emptiness, the bhikkhu himself dwells comfortably and does not appear separately. In order to explain the rationality of saying that those whose minds are connected with objects find it difficult to enter nirvāṇa, objects are mentioned. That is, the mind connected with objects establishes its own existence by the noble truths and so on, but it does not reverse the arising of birth. Furthermore, in "emptiness" and so on, even if it is possible to slightly reverse the ability by the power of samādhi, it will still be bound again by the rope of universal attachment and arise, just as one enters the absorption of non-perception, and after arising from that, the mind will arise again. Among them, the three verses of seven syllables, such as "Whoever enters the Sutra Pitaka," were thrown by others, not by the teacher himself, because this is the time to distinguish between the with-object and the without-object, not the time to distinguish between the sutras and non-sutras, so some people say this. I, the noble Śāntideva.

When dwelling on the lion throne, it is the time of teaching, therefore, it seems that one speaks only without considering the connection between what precedes and what follows. The Great Vehicle and your Sutras of the Hearers are the same, being of one meaning. Not realizing one thing is being on one side. Not realizing is the same as not realizing, because the meanings are different. All, that is, all of the Great Vehicle. That which has faults is what the Buddha spoke. One and, that is, one side of the Great Vehicle. All is all of the Great Vehicle. What you know is by the Vaibhashikas and others. In order to show the benefits of emptiness, attachment is mentioned, attachment is clinging to existence. Fear is being afraid of the extreme of annihilation, which is the meaning of the two extremes of permanence and annihilation. Liberation, that is, abandoning those two extremes and realizing the Middle Way, and also abiding in samsara. The deluded one is the one who, in conventionality, focuses on sentient beings and enters samsara with compassion. Seeing emptiness, one is not stained by the faults of samsara, this is the fruit of emptiness. Doubt is uncertainty. Afflictions and knowable objects are obscurations. That itself is like darkness, therefore it is darkness. The antidote to that is the destroyer of that, which is emptiness. In order to advise not to be frightened by emptiness, suffering and so forth are mentioned, so-called the object of the awareness of "I," the "I" that is spoken of is the nature of "I" itself, if that is examined and analyzed, then there is not even a little bit of it, for the sake of speaking of that examination and analysis, "so" and so forth are mentioned, that which is not is that which is not "I." Saliva is what comes out of the mouth. Pus is what flows from a wound. Fat is oil, by whose power does the body grow? Sweat is the sweat of profuse sweating. The inner organs are even the fine ends of the intestines. The intestines are close to the veins. Warmth is the element of fire. The holes are the eyes and so forth. If the Samkhyas and others think that "I" is the nature of awareness, then don't they desire the "I" of the nature of awareness of sound and so forth to be permanent? How so?
