Appears to oneself. If it is said that the future life is also the same as this self, therefore it is said "having cause" etc. Even in this life, sentient beings are sentient beings with actions, therefore they are not momentary. Because things that are not momentary do not operate in a sequential or non-sequential manner, they are non-existent. Whatever has a cause and is complete, appears to have a result, which is impossible. If it is said that the Buddha, the Bhagavan, has said that there is an agent and an enjoyer, therefore it is said "continuum" etc. Now, considering that the mind abides in a momentary continuum, with the connection between before and after, he teaches that karma is not wasted. If that is the case, then the past etc. mind, which is the basis of the pride of "I", is it therefore the self? Therefore it is said "past" etc. For the time being, the past and future minds do not exist, therefore they cannot be the basis, so they are not the self. If it is thought that the mind that arises now is the self, then the present one also arises and immediately disintegrates, so it cannot be the basis, because that mind does not exist, and because that mind does not exist, the self also does not exist. If it is thought that the collection of body, mind and mental events is generally called the self, therefore it is said "how" etc. For example, here, if a collection of trees is divided into parts and the parts in each direction are removed, then just as there is no object with parts, even if the collection is called the self, if it is analyzed and searched, it is not real, so it does not exist. Moreover, the noble Nagarjuna has said in the Ratnavali that pride is eliminated by "there is no self" etc. Therefore, if one analyzes and searches completely, one will only see that it is not real. If it is said that what you desire, the benefit of beings, cannot be achieved? Therefore it is said "if" etc. For the necessary purpose, to pacify suffering. The so-called commitment refers to what is strongly clung to by desire, or what I have done. The so-called "to strongly cling to beings with ignorance, what is fabricated, one has compassion for it".

It is a synonym for action. Others say, if there are no sentient beings, then for whom is this necessity? It is not acceptable. Therefore, it is said "sentient beings" and so on. If there are no sentient beings, then whose necessity is this necessity? It is no one's. Saying "it is also true" is acknowledging "although it is true." Saying "for the sake of" is doing the benefit of oneself and others. Saying "self-attachment" is doing for the purpose of desire or going. That action, although it is suffering due to superimposition, this ignorance of doing for the sake of pacifying sufferings is not something to be refuted and dispelled. Moreover, from the ignorance of permanence and self, pride arises, which is the cause of increasing suffering. Therefore, that itself is what should be dispelled. Thus it was said, and others say that your ignorance of merely superimposing on sentient beings also cannot dispel pride. Because the ignorance of action is also ignorance, it cannot dispel the cause of suffering. Because it cannot dispel, there is no liberation. If you say so, those who desire enlightenment should have compassion for illusion-like things and should only accomplish knowing selflessness. Therefore, it is said that "meditating on selflessness is supreme." Or, if you say that it cannot be dispelled from the previous way of the cause of suffering, then meditate on selflessness in this way, and by dispelling, that is supreme. Through the way of refuting having mind and not having mind, selflessness is refuted, and if someone says that the body with the characteristics of limbs is connected with mind, therefore there is self, then therefore it is said "the body is" and so on, which also shows mindfulness of the body. Saying "all" is limbs and so on. Part is hands and so on. A part of a part is fingers and so on. If limbs and limbs abide in that way, then where does the self of the body that is established as not being such a limb-possessor reside apart from the limbs? Similarly, the body is also not to be analyzed into a single or minute part. Therefore, it is said "thus inside and outside." Therefore, the difference of being arranged in its shape, etc.
