Because it is an antidote, feeling, mindfulness, and the nature of close dwelling should be cultivated and habituated in order to destroy this erroneous manifestation of clinging to afflictions. One should contemplate the very nature of manifestation and clinging, this concluding statement. If asked, how is it an antidote? Therefore, it is said, "discrimination," and so on. Thus, what is called "discrimination" is: the discrimination that manifests clinging and joy in analyzing reality; it becomes an antidote to the manifestation of clinging to what is not reality, and it is the meditation of discrimination that arises from that; it is unpolluted food; whoever has the nature of realizing reality becomes a yogi; because from hearing comes thinking, from thinking comes meditation, and from meditation comes the wisdom of reality; just as a magical lion kills a magical elephant, it is not truly real. Similarly, by analyzing reality, although erroneous discriminations do not actually exist, they are destroyed. If it is allowed to be so, if asked: The Blessed One said that clinging to the reality of permanence is feeling caused by contact. Therefore, it is said, "sense object," and so on. The sense is the eye and so on. Because it is the object to be aimed at, it is the object, namely form and so on. There is an interval between these two, and they will not be mixed with subtle particles. If that is the case, then if these senses and objects do not gather and meet, because there is no contact, how can there be feeling? Saying so, in reality, subtle particles do not exist, but in order to refute the opponent, subtle particles are admitted. Others say that it cannot be maintained that it exists without interval, because if it is alone, there will be no term for meeting and contacting with others. Similarly, subtle particles do not enter into subtle particles, if it has the opportunity to enter, if there is space to enter, then it is possible, but because it does not have it, therefore they are equal, they are the same, and precisely because of this, they are mixed and gathered.
