Because of fractures and disputes, it must be abandoned. Other scriptures should also be abandoned. Because there are disputes with one's own sect and some others. Furthermore, the root of the Buddha's teachings is the Bhikshu (monk) himself. Where is the root foundation of the Bhikshu's precepts? It is in the Bhikshu himself. And even that is difficult to abide by because of disputes with the heretics. For the time being, what need is there to mention the Bhikshu himself? The mind is with an object, that is, those who have an object of close grasping, as long as there is clinging to the aggregates, pride will arise. And there is also karma and birth, so Nirvana is also difficult to abide in. Because seeing the truth abandons afflictions, therefore it is not difficult to abide in, because of saying so. Therefore, afflictions and so on are mentioned. Even after abandoning afflictions, if emptiness is not cultivated, it will not arise, because for the mind with an object, it appears to be with harm. For example, the son of the venerable Maudgalyayana is tormented by physical suffering, and it appears that he has the power of deluded karma. Even so, if craving is the root of existence, then do they not have craving? It must be grasped firmly and determined through analysis. What must be determined? It is said how much and so on. Here, others say that craving that is afflicted, unspecified, and the non-virtuous of the desire realm, here too, is done in the manner of producing existence. If it is with joyful desire, then it is afflicted, so why say without affliction? Thinking in this way, ignorance is also a great affliction, so it is afflicted, and its habit is also not completely deluded, the mind that does not understand, this one with an object, is considered to exist. Similarly, for craving that is not afflicted, there is also a habit that is not afflicted. That is feeling. That also needs to be analyzed, even if it is not an affliction, but when it meets with a cause that acts together, it will produce an affliction, and this is also indicated by the word 'also'.

Therefore, it is said, "This craving," and so on. If it is said that causes do not necessarily produce results, therefore, it is said, "Object of focus," and so on, meaning that wherever the mind is with an object of focus, it will definitely tend towards the realm of existence or non-leakage. And why is that? Therefore, it is said, "Emptiness," and so on, because the mind that does not realize emptiness is bound by the habitual tendencies of things, so it will not be liberated and will arise again. And what is that like? Therefore, it is said, "Perception," and so on, perception is the mind's perception that grasps at characteristics such as blue. That which is without perception is without perception, and it is also without perception, and because it generates the cessation of mental and physical distraction, it is also meditative absorption, therefore it is non-perceptual meditative absorption. That is also when someone attains the great fruit of the fourth dhyana, some perceive existence as liberation, therefore they stop perception and enter into meditative absorption. Their minds are bound by inverted habitual tendencies, therefore, even if perception is stopped, as long as the momentum of the past is not exhausted, it will still arise from the sense faculties of the body. To be born as a great fruit god, a non-perceptual sentient being, that is unfavorable. Therefore, one should meditate on emptiness. If it is said that your teachings are not characterized as those spoken by the Buddha, therefore, it is said, "Whoever," and so on, why not consider it the Buddha's word? It should be considered the Buddha's word. The term "mostly" means that although they are not the same in all aspects. Furthermore, if you think that because some aspects, such as emptiness, are inconsistent, it is not spoken by the Buddha, therefore, it is said, "If," and so on, if you think that it is not permissible for the Great Vehicle and your sutra texts to be somewhat inconsistent. Your scriptures also show that it is meaningful to be the same as the great emptiness from the teachings that have true meaning, and in this way, the same words can also prove that all the Great Vehicle is victorious.
