Yes, wanting to go is wanting to go somewhere, but it is not going. Going is going there. Just as one knows the difference between the two, so too should one know the difference between these two in order. The mind of aspiration is like wanting to go, while entering is like going, that is its meaning. Who can know? The wise. Having correctly examined the actions of body and so on, knowing the means to benefit oneself and others, and always doing so, one will not incur the fault of falling, that is wisdom. Because he possesses this wisdom, he is called wise, and the wise can know. Aspiration is merely the manifestation of desire, while entering is truly taking up and so on, it is the nature of entering. Here, whether it is truly taking the vows, or entering into Bodhi through it, it is truly taking up. Just like the entering Bodhicitta, aspiration is also similar to it. Therefore, if it is said that in Samsara, entering produces a greater fruit than aspiration, there is no difference, that is true. However, using the word "again", the mind of aspiration for Bodhi is transformed for the sake of one's own and others' Bodhi in Samsara, it will indeed produce a greater fruit. However, just as the entering mind enters there, it does not continuously produce merit like an uninterrupted stream. Therefore, the entering mind here is different from the previous aspiration mind. How then can it produce an uninterrupted stream of merit? Therefore, it is said "from where" and so on. In an instant, from where, the realm of sentient beings, for the sake of infinitely liberating. Like this, the realm of sentient beings cannot be limited, it is infinite. These sentient beings are also called realms because they cling to their own characteristics, it is the continuous nature of the arising of afflictions, karma and conditions. In order to completely liberate them from the bonds of afflictions and the prison of Samsara, as long as Samsara exists, the entering mind will not turn back and will not be reversed, the entering mind will increase and purify, this is the mind that is truly taken up.

You have taken it to accomplish the task completely. From this moment on, even if you fall asleep or become careless, you should turn away from non-virtuous actions, engage in virtuous actions, and with love and great compassion, work for the benefit of all sentient beings, accumulating the power of merit, maintaining an unbroken stream of virtue, and through special faith in Suchness, each inexhaustible stream of merit will arise in various ways. Such vast and inexhaustible merit will become as vast as the sky. As it is said in the "Questions of Brave Giving Sutra": "If the merit of a Bodhisattva had form, it would fill the entire realm of space, and it would still be greater than that." What is the reasoning here? Therefore, it is said, "This is," and so on. This Bodhicitta, which has great benefits, is reasonable, as spoken by the Tathagata himself. Why is it said? It is for the sake of beings with inferior faith. Thus it is said. From where is it said? It is said from the "Questions of Good Arm Sutra." How is it said to be reasonable in the "Questions of Good Arm Sutra"? Therefore, it is said, "Sentient beings," and so on. Even just thinking of removing the slightest illness of sentient beings, and having a mind of benefiting them, if doctors and others have a mind without seeking their own benefit, they will obtain immeasurable merit. What need is there to mention those who wish to clearly aim at and destroy the immeasurable and countless kinds of discomfort and suffering of each sentient being, and who wish to accomplish and increase the immeasurable qualities of each sentient being? This will be extremely immeasurable merit. This is the intention. So, who has this kind of altruistic mind? In order to generally examine and show its particularity, it is said, "Father," and so on. "Father or any time."

English

The particle "sa" refers to people's siblings or friends, and so on. "Gods" refers to the protectors of the world, and so on. "Sages" refers to beings born from strength, and so on. Brahma is the creator, as others clearly believe. However, Bodhisattvas do not have the mind of benefiting others like benefiting sentient beings, which is impossible. Furthermore, these sentient beings themselves, for those who are fathers, and so on, and sentient beings who should be taken care of by them, if they have never dreamed or seen such a mind that clearly desires in their hearts for their own benefit, how can they generate such a mind for the benefit of others? Similarly, becoming a medicine for the suffering of disease is because of the attainment of liberation. Being the cause of joy for all beings, and the merit of the precious mind that is the medicine for the suffering of beings, is like the beginning of sound, although there is no difference, it is explained separately. Here, merit is the cause of benefiting sentient beings, so how can this merit be measured? Therefore, it is extremely immeasurable. Like this, here is what was said reasonably after being asked by Good Arm. Furthermore, just thinking of benefiting is more excellent than offering to the Buddhas. Just as it is said in the "Moon Lamp Sutra": How many countless offerings, filling hundreds of thousands of billions of Buddha lands, making such offerings to the most excellent person, cannot compare to the number and amount of loving-kindness. The happiness of sentient beings, what need is there to say about the merit of striving for the benefit of all? It means, how can striving to make all sentient beings attain all happiness not be particularly excellent? Of course, it is particularly excellent. Similarly, although the merit of those who aspire to Bodhi is immeasurable, because they strive for the benefit of all sentient beings, in order to show that it is not particularly excellent, suffering and so on are mentioned. Abandoning suffering and definitely liberating from it.
