The refutation of the debate that "one should not pay homage" should be answered. In the verses such as "Golden Essence," "Golden Essence" is a special feature of the essence. "Like the Supreme" means that it can become a jewel, that is, it can be transformed in this way. "Taking this impure body" means taking this present body. "Because the Victor's body can be transformed into a priceless treasure" means that the body of the Buddha, the Bhagavan, can be transformed into something of great significance, like a wish-fulfilling jewel. Therefore, the golden essence, which is named Bodhicitta, should be firmly and unshakeably held and taken. This is the meaning of it. Thus, after comparing it to golden essence, in order to explain its similarity to jewels, "Guide of Beings" and so on are mentioned. "The only Guide of Beings" means leading all beings, that is, all the worlds, to the city of Nirvana according to their respective karmas. "Immeasurable Wisdom" means that because it is a subtle and immeasurable object, other beings cannot measure it. Therefore, the Buddha, the Bhagavan, who possesses immeasurable wisdom, has both immeasurable wisdom and has attained his own perfect benefit, and therefore can observe well. If, when observing a jewel, one is confused about its characteristics, or mistakenly thinks that it is a deceiver, then the Buddha does not have these two situations, and therefore can observe well. How can one observe well? Because it is "precious," like a wish-fulfilling jewel, even perfect wealth is difficult to obtain, let alone the Bodhicitta jewel. Therefore, those who want to escape the suffering of samsara, that is, those beings who have the karma to wander in hell and other samsaric realms, should firmly hold onto Bodhicitta. To further praise it, "All other virtues" and so on are mentioned, that is, all virtues other than Bodhicitta are exhausted like trees by the water, without the fruit of tranquility, while Bodhicitta

Trees always bear fruit, because each moment produces fruit of the same kind. Just as it is said below, "Starting from today, will you sleep?" and so on, just as it is said, even if each life has already produced excellent ripening results, during the time that sentient beings exist, the fruit of the same kind will not cease, therefore it will not be exhausted. In this way, from possessing one's own perfect benefit, the perfect benefit of others will also arise. Because from that basis, the trees of bodhicitta will also grow for other beings. Thus, it is said that one enters into virtue manifestly, and it is praised, because it is the cause of turning away from non-virtue, so it is said to be like a hero, that is, it is said, "Sin is extremely..." and so on. Sin is abominable, causing harm to the Three Jewels, etc., even if one has done things like great fear, but just like relying on a hero, if one relies on and abides in a certain place, the so-called "in an instant," that is, not for long, the bodhicitta that can liberate and protect, why do those sentient beings with mindfulness not rely on it? It is indeed something to rely on. The Bhagavan also said that the sins that have been committed and accumulated will be overwhelmed by the power of reliance. Among them, the power of reliance is taking refuge in the Three Jewels and not abandoning bodhicitta, as stated in the Sutra of Four Dharmas. Thus, the basis of the difference between entering into virtue and turning away from non-virtue is bodhicitta, and after teaching this correctly, it is shown to be like the difference of fire, and because it has immeasurable benefits, in order to praise it correctly, it is said, "Therefore, it is the end of time..." and so on. The so-called bodhicitta is like a pile of fire at the end of the world, it is the fire of the end of time, similar to it, the great sins such as the five heinous crimes, the so-called "one moment," that is, especially the one moment of great patience of intense faith can be taken.

If there is no observation of [things], then it is certain to be burned. What is Bodhicitta? Its benefits are immeasurable, countless benefits. The protector Maitreya, with his wisdom and erudition, spoke and instructed the merchant's son named Norzang (Sudhana): 'Good son, Bodhicitta is like the seed of all Buddhist teachings.' Because it makes the white Dharma of all beings grow, it is also called a field, etc. Moreover, the Holy Gandavyuha Sutra also says that it is fully in accordance with other qualities and characteristics. Thus, as stated in the above verses, it is only the benefit of being accustomed to Bodhicitta. Now, from this point onwards, it should be understood that it is said in consideration of the differences in different stages. Therefore, it is said 'Bodhicitta' and so on. From Bodhicitta, the mind that generates faith in Bodhi is the intention to express with faith 'I will become a Buddha and benefit sentient beings', and the mind that wants to obtain deep and broad benefits through actions, that is the mind that aspires to Bodhi. Correctly upholding the conduct of Bodhi, etc., entering into it is entering into Bodhi, in this way, there are two types. In this regard, the wise man said to Norzang (Sudhana): 'Good son, it is difficult to find a sentient being who has generated the supreme perfect Bodhicitta.' Therefore, it is also very difficult to encounter someone who has entered the supreme perfect Bodhi.' The Blessed One has taught many classifications such as the grounds and Paramitas, but here ten types are mentioned. If so, how can there be two types? Therefore, in order to summarize, it is said 'It should be known that there are two types.' Even if there are ten types, when summarized in terms of benefits, there are still two types. It should be known that they are divided into two types by the difference between correct upholding and entering. If so, then what is the difference between aspiring Bodhicitta and engaging Bodhicitta? Therefore, it is said 'wanting to walk' and so on.
