If one merely desires happiness, then it is said, "desiring happiness," and so on. Praise, etc., my actions are merely the conclusion of not praising. Similarly, regarding "for the sake of fame," etc., the words are the conclusion of fame. If praise, etc., is destroyed, one cannot tolerate the behavior of children, such as the collapse of a sandcastle, etc. Like this, for the time being, regarding sound, etc., the sound of the time being depends on the body and mind. Although the body is coarse, it is inanimate, so it is not praised. The mind is not embodied and cannot be the agent. Then, from where will the joy of praising me arise? It is said, "Others rejoice in me," etc., the cause of joy is merely imputed. To show that the absence of others' joy is also having enemies, it is said, "Others or even me." It is said, "What" is not an obvious intention. Even if others rejoice in me, that is not beneficial to me. Because are those others pure? To show what result others' joy related to others' praise has for me, it is said, "Joy and happiness," etc., that is the praiser's own. I do not get a share from it. Because happiness is one's own, and because it is not a form, it cannot be distributed. If I rely on the joy of others praising, will I also be happy? It is said, "I with happiness," etc., for all, that is, for others also there is happiness, then, that happiness will make me happy. Why because of others' joy? It is better to rejoice over an angry enemy. For others to become happy, that change of happiness makes me uncomfortable. Therefore, like "I am praised" is merely a reversed thought, because it will generate a mental continuum seized by pride thinking "I." Thus, because others' joy is unrelated to me, it is merely the behavior of children. To make the enemy happy in a beneficial way.

In order to show that it is unreasonable to harbor hatred towards (the enemy). Praise, etc., are mentioned, because they are the cause of distraction, so they cause distraction. It also destroys sorrow. Being jealous of oneself who possesses merits, it makes one unwilling to give. Giving to those who have given to oneself, and others also praising them, giving, etc., is perfect. If I am angry with them, then perfection will also disappear, because praise, etc., will also make them angry. Because it is so, therefore praise, etc., in order to destroy, the verses, etc., are easy to understand. For those who want to enter suffering, etc., in order to ascertain suffering itself, for those who want to enter through taking rebirth in the uninterrupted hell, etc., those who have become the door bolt, are near in order to destroy praise, etc. In order to show that even making obstacles to merit is not an obstacle, "This is merit," etc., are mentioned. Patience is not equal to asceticism, merit does not exist. What is said by the holy ones in that? Do I not dwell there? If I, etc., the cause of merit refers to giving, etc., although it is making obstacles to merit, it is the cause of patience. In order to show that the cause of benefiting others is the enemy itself. If something does not arise without something, etc., that is its cause. Just as fire burns, if the enemy of patience is like that, then how can it be an obstacle to its cause? If it is not so, then "at the right time," etc., are mentioned. In order to show that this should also be desired, "In the world," etc., are mentioned, it is easy to understand. The way to be offered is, "This and mine," etc., are mentioned. Why? Because it is the companion of the Bodhisattva's conduct. Because I and this enemy have accomplished together, therefore the patience towards that enemy is the (cause) of that. Its fruit is the essence of the excellent Dharma...

It is also given. In the stage of conduct, it is already given to all sentient beings just by faith, but in the stage of fruition, it should also be made extremely clear, and first of all, it should be given to that one. That former possessor is the cause of the enemy. The two words "capable of being the cause of accomplishment" and "named" are spoken, which is a synonym for saying that patience is the cause of accomplishment. Otherwise, like a doctor, diligently benefiting, named if there is no intention to harm, then like a doctor, if like a doctor, diligently benefiting, how can I generate patience towards someone who does not harm? Therefore, relying on the extreme hatred of that enemy, patience arises, therefore, he is the cause of patience, therefore, even if there is no intention to accomplish patience, it should be offered like my holy Dharma, named holy Dharma. Here, even if there is no body and mind of the nature of an enemy, but because contempt etc. are the cause of patience. How is it the cause of accomplishing patience, just like truly offering the holy Dharma, the enemy is also the cause of accomplishing patience. In order to show that all sentient beings should also be offered like the victors. Therefore, it is said "therefore" etc. Sentient beings are the field of the victors, the place of birth. The field of sentient beings is the former victors, because they are able to endure the seed ground of sentient beings. Why? It is said "these" etc. Furthermore, sentient beings, from the perspective of the field of sentient beings, and from the perspective of the victors. The Buddhadharma, accomplishing and arriving at the fruits of power and fearlessness etc. The accomplishment of the Buddhadharma is similar to, respecting the victors is also the same, what is the reason for not respecting sentient beings? How is it reasonable? Although it is so, but if it is said that because sentient beings' minds are inferior, they should not be respected, it is said "mind" etc. That, named obtaining the Buddhadharma. The fruit is the same as the victors, and sentient beings also have merits. For that reason, it is the same as sentient beings. Furthermore, those who possess loving-kindness
