Just as I rely on these sentient beings to become a Buddha. The discourse of "these" and so on means that I rely on these sentient beings to become a Buddha. With this thought, look with a straight and loving heart. One should always look at all sentient beings with a straight heart, that is what it means to express. Also, one should always abide in manifest attachment to them. Similarly, in order to counteract anger and other afflictions, one should generate great joy. Merit is non-attachment and so on, benefit is like guarding in accordance with reality, all of these are fields of merit and benefit. Those who are suffering and sick, like looking at them like this, is also a great good deed. Isn't the mind of enlightenment always a great good deed? It is indeed so, but this is said to those who do not have firm faith. Therefore, "diligence" and so on are mentioned, diligence is not being lazy in what is to be done. "Having risen" means to always rise for one's own benefit. Having the state of not forgetting the affairs of others is: "All deeds I always do, Their deeds, Disciples and others do." Like this, "all deeds" and so on are said, it means to take into account, to give alms according to the occasion. Even if it changes like that, but always rising up, changing like opening the door and so on is also forbidden, if it is like that, because it has the meaning of the perfection of discipline, can't it be done? "Giving" and so on are said, always rising for the benefit of others is the perfection of diligence, which is more excellent than the perfection of discipline. Then, how can one abandon discipline at the time of giving? "Because it is small" and so on are said, behavior is like a water channel, because it is the support for going upwards, therefore, except for the water channel used by others, it should never be abandoned, that is what it means to express. Isn't it forbidden to harm and so on? It is indeed so.

It is said, mentioning actions and so on. Having compassion means having foresight. For a pure mind of compassion, even harm and so on are permitted when seeing the benefit. What need is there to mention others? This is the concluding remark. Thus, having understood, one should always diligently abide in benefiting others. Like this, having mentioned the practice of giving fearlessness and so on, in order to show the aspect of giving material things, it is said, "falling into wrong views" and so on. Falling into wrong views refers to pretas and so on. Helpless means patients separated from their fathers and so on. Ascetics are those who abide in asceticism. One should divide and eat the food among them. One should eat just enough, not too much and not too little. The three Dharma robes are the samghati, the upper robe, and the lower robe. The most important among these are the three Dharma robes. Therefore, one should especially give and donate what one has begged for to others. If one does not have that, one should give something else. Because keeping moral discipline itself is particularly important for the sake of giving like that. Therefore, it will be shown that one should not give up other moral disciplines in order to avoid transgressing the established precepts. Then, is it okay to give up vows since that is also a transgression of the established precepts? It is said, "The holy Dharma is" and so on. Because the holy Dharma is the body of a practicing bhikshu, it is the very source of all merit. For the sake of the other, that is, for the sake of giving, one should not be harmed by bees, mosquitoes, cold, and so on. If one does that, that is, if one does not harm the body, the minds of sentient beings will quickly be fulfilled, because there is happiness, samadhi, and from that, the wisdom of suchness, and from that, the pure mind of compassion, which is called benefiting sentient beings. Since even ordinary individuals should not give up the three Dharma robes, what need is there to mention life? In order to show this, it is said, "compassionate" and so on. Because the holy Dharma is the body of practice, one should not be harmed for the sake of another. Therefore, one should not give up this body until the mind of compassion is pure.
