One should differentiate and discern with wisdom. The flesh, too, from the network of bones, separate with the sword of wisdom. The bones, too, having been distinguished, should be observed up to the middle of the foot, and up to the end of the foot. What essence is there in this? You yourself should examine it. Like this, starting from distinguishing the skin, through effort in searching, if there, you do not see the essence, then, for what reason do you still protect this body? Similarly, you cannot eat impure things, nor can you drink blood, it is not something to be drunk. The intestines and stomach cannot be sucked, then, what use is the body to you? If it were foxes and vultures, they should protect it for the sake of food. This body of a human, even when alive, is merely used. Even so, if one were to do merit, even if you protect it like this, but the merciless Lord of Death, seizing the body, gives it to birds and dogs, what can you do at that time? If

Also, one should abide peacefully, in order to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings, transforming into a wish-fulfilling body. The scripture called "merely the support of coming and going" refers to the body. What exists dependent on the support of coming and going? Merely the support of coming and going, clinging to the body as a vessel, this is its phrase. The remaining part is the same as before. Those who wish to protect the precepts, starting from "thus," only explain the practice of mind training, and now they will show the behavior, that is, "thus," etc. In order to show that sometimes a smiling face cannot be turned into an angry face, they said "anger," etc., meaning it is useless. A good friend who wants to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings is an altruistic friend. To whom the state of well-coming, etc., exists in the meaning of what others say, is called "as it is said." Beds, etc., that is, cushions, etc. Do not abandon the sound. Here it says that one should not discard or place with sound, for the sake of non-attachment, etc. Rashness means completely abandoning causing harm to beings, etc., and doing it after careful consideration. Similarly, do not open the door violently, but always be quiet, cautious, and joyful. For example, water birds, cats, thieves, etc., move silently and stealthily, as if to accomplish the desired meaning. These are the actions of fish, mice, and thieves, etc. Therefore, in order to obtain the virtue of manifesting what is desired like water birds, etc., the Able One said that one should always, that is, continue to practice in that way. Similarly, for the state of benefiting others with a joyful mind, and those who have the characteristic of urging others' faults: being good at advising others, not speaking unasked benefits, if there are faults, wanting to correct them, and not wanting to do it in other ways, respectfully taking them on the head, therefore becoming a disciple of all beings. Similarly, for all good words, one should say "well said." In order to counteract all afflictions, one should say good

Therefore, all of that arises from the blessings of the Buddha, hence it is spoken by the Buddha. Likewise, when one sees someone performing virtuous deeds, one should generate joy by praising them openly. Praising their qualities in secret is for the sake of praise. When others speak of it, one should join in praising their qualities. When others speak of a Bodhisattva's own qualities, those who know qualities should recognize that they know qualities, and the Bodhisattva should keep it in mind. Moreover, with the word "also," one should also be pleased with the qualities of others. How so? By mentioning "all endeavors," and so forth. Thus, all endeavors, all actions. For the sake of joy, that joy is rare even if bought with a price. Therefore, with the virtues done by others, with the virtues accumulated by others, one should enjoy the bliss of joy. Whether I have harm or not here, here it is merit, and there is also great happiness for others. Being displeased and suffering from the fault of anger towards those virtues of others, there is also great suffering for others, and also for the body. Thus, one should generate joy. How should one speak? By mentioning "if speaking," and so forth. Satisfying the mind, it is a trustworthy connecting word. That which clarifies the meaning, and similarly, that which pleases and delights the mind, is to be grasped by the mind, and is pleasing to the ear's consciousness. For whom, to whom is there love, for all who desire to be free from suffering, the root of virtue without anger, is having a cause. That which is gentle is soft, having a sound that is not coarse and emanating. With that which has sound, one should speak in that way. How should one look? By mentioning "with the eyes," and so forth. If one always looks at sentient beings with the eyes, since it is the main thing, others should also do likewise. With a smiling face, having abandoned the frown of anger, one sees change at some time, as it is shown, it is the meaning of excellent. Therefore, it is said, "look with a straight and loving manner," straight is looking without crookedness. Why look in that way? This
