There is no fruit, because the fruit is small. The wounds created by the enemy, the wounds created by the enemy, if they are adorned on the body like ornaments, why should suffering harm me when I strive diligently to accomplish great things? Similarly, fishermen, outcasts, farmers, and so on, merely thinking of their own lives, if they can endure the harm of cold and heat, why can't I endure for the happiness of beings? However, mere endurance is not like that, the ten directions reach the end of the sky, the beings of the ten directions reach the end of the sky, the realm of sentient beings is infinite, when one vows to be liberated from the enemy of afflictions, but one has not been liberated from afflictions, nor does one know one's own capacity, then, how can speaking not be madness? Therefore, in order to destroy afflictions, one should always be non-retrogressive. One should always be attached to abandoning afflictions. If one retrogresses, one will not be attached, and even a moment of attachment will not retrogress. In battle, one is able to abandon afflictions, and the opposing sides are not cautious about each of the nine aspects. In order to control those who drive, because one has learned well, one engages in battle in an instant, not out of resentment. I am here holding a grudge and wanting to fight. Even if one destroys the afflictions of other continuums, because one holds a grudge against samsara, one has not destroyed all afflictions. However, when fighting with it, mixing with afflictions, arrogance and so on arise from afflictions, which are different from other afflictions. Otherwise, for the sake of destroying afflictions, one establishes the destroyer of afflictions. Some rely on arrogance in order to overcome the enemy of arrogance, and similarly, if it is reversed, hatred will be explained by the kind of anger. That is, even if I am burned or killed, even if my head is cut off, under no circumstances should I submit to the enemy of afflictions. This is said to the enemies of afflictions. When anger arises towards afflictions, this affliction is not such an enemy.

In order to show that reason. Even if an ordinary enemy is driven out of the country, they will reside and completely occupy other countries, and from wherever their power grows, they will return from there. The enemy of afflictions is not like that. Thus it was said. The mind is like this: Having eliminated myself from my mind, where will I go? Where will I reside and return to harm me? For me, who is weak in intelligence, effort is futile. Afflictions, afflictions, are abandoned by the eye of wisdom. Wisdom itself is the eye, because it is what is to be abandoned. The eye of wisdom itself is the eye, it is the meaning called afflictions. If one should abandon after seeing with wisdom in that way, then it is said, "Afflictions, etc.:" Afflictions, etc., do not reside in a place, because they arise from conceptualization. And also because there is no place for conceptualization, and because afflictions, etc., are not material, and because being a support and a supported is not permissible. That is not the collection of one's own faculties, not the eyes, etc. It is also not in between, it is also not residing in between. It is also not other than that, if these harm all wherever they reside and go. That existence itself is only momentary. In a single moment, the nature of everything is imperishable, it is not the cause of making the non-existent arise, thus it is thought. For that reason, it is said that this is like an illusion. Because all of this is false. In order to know that fear is eliminated from the heart from afflictions. Even in conventionality, one should rely on effort, that is, making effort without transgressing the training. The reason for knowing is for the sake of excellent wisdom. Meaningless itself, that is, without opportunity itself, if I, how would hell harm those who are not small? A Bodhisattva endowed with skillful means, wisdom, and great compassion, like a goose in a lotus grove, is born in Avici hell. In that way, having spoken in order to conclude with what is called "thinking in this way, etc.," in that way, when thinking about what is rashly begun, etc., one should strive to accomplish the training as it has been said, like the Buddhas, the Bhagavat.
