Therefore, the enjoyments are: wives, servants, livestock, gold, houses, and so on. All the virtues of the three times, in order to accomplish the benefit of all sentient beings, are given without any stinginess, that is, without the thought of wanting to take them back, and without the thought of expecting a return, I should give. Why? In order to accomplish the benefit of all sentient beings. By giving everything away, one is liberated from suffering. My mind should accomplish liberation from suffering. It is precisely for the sake of striving for liberation from suffering for oneself and others. If I can give everything away at once, then giving to sentient beings is the best. Having thus proclaimed compassion, love is also, I to all living beings. Regarding what is said, such as, I, that is, for the mind with the need to give, and these bodies of mine, to all living beings, give as you please, my body is always being killed, that is, beaten, or insulted, or beaten and scolded as you please. It is also okay to cover it with dust from a broom, etc. Is my body harmed? Even if it is the cause of quarrels, for this, my body has already been given away, what use is it? Because it has become one's own. Furthermore, whatever action does not harm it, may be done. If those great terrors such as death are near, in order to dispel it, for me, may I do the blameless action that is not the cause of suffering. The meaning is, please allow me to do it. With me as the object, may no one ever be meaningless. Even at some time, may no one rely on me, may it not become meaningless even just to think of me. With me as the object, whoever has anger or faith arising, may that itself always become the cause of accomplishing all their wishes. Whoever insults me, or whoever falsely slanders me, or anyone else who harms me, or likewise, whether it is someone who spreads rumors, or reveals faults, may all these people be qualified for enlightenment. Furthermore, I am the protector of the unprotected, I am the lord and savior, I am the protector of the unprotected, for those who have entered the path, that is, the guide for those who abide on the path, and the rivers, etc.

Wishing to cross to the other shore, may I become a boat, a raft, and a bridge for those wishing to cross. For those seeking an island, may I be an island; for those seeking a dwelling, may I be a dwelling; may I become a servant to all beings who desire servants. The wish-fulfilling jewel and vase, which fulfill all desires, are the wish-fulfilling jewel and the excellent vase. That which accomplishes deeds merely by recitation is the accomplishment of mantra. That which accomplishes great medicinal deeds, may it become great medicine. The tree that yields fruits as fully conceived is the wish-fulfilling tree. Just as all things desired are fulfilled as desired, so may it fulfill beings. In short, like the great elements such as earth, and all that dwells in the unexhausted sky, countless beings, may I also become the basis for various necessities. In various ways, likewise, by the power of autonomy, to the boundless realm of beings, long and vast, reaching the limits of space, in many ways, until all beings attain nirvana, may I also be the cause of sustenance. Vowing to benefit all beings after becoming a Buddha. Thus, the combination of offerings and so forth, and the ultimate difficult practices of aspiring to enlightenment, is pure, and the intention is fully vast. What is the proper way to take vows? As it is said: 'As the Sugatas of the past.' And so on, what is said here is the mind of enlightenment, which is the Bodhisattva vow. Thus: One should take the vow from a lama who abides in the vow, is skilled, and possesses ability. If such a person is not found, then one should look upon all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who possess all the vows of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and have reached the other shore of enlightenment with unobstructed wisdom eyes, and from them, with strong faith and excellent conviction, one should properly take the vow. Having made offerings and so forth as previously described, one should recite these two verses. Having found a master, likewise, having made offerings and so forth to them, one should take the precepts described in the chapter on ethics or in the Compendium of Trainings. That is moistened with sandalwood.
