Oh, this means "should be accepted." Now, in short, in the past, for the sake of one's own happiness, the harm done to others, from now on, as a response to that action, one should accept it oneself. In short, saying "in short" etc., for the benefit of sentient beings, that root of virtue, and the suffering that comes from accomplishing those virtues, should also be accepted, that is the meaning. This "this is" etc., indicates such a meaning: just like a strong ox unyokes its yoke, or some books say "yoke rope," then it is like the yoke rope being loosened. Likewise, one's own mind should not strive for its own benefit. However, like a tamed animal, it should be bound by the yoke or yoke rope of shame and fear, that is, the two of embarrassment, this is the meaning. Considering the faults of not doing so, therefore, it is said "however, like that" etc. Like that, even if in the past one acted for oneself, but from now on one should not act for oneself, one should strive for others, in order to show the faults caused by acting for oneself, and the benefits brought by acting for others, therefore, it is said "you to me" etc. four verses. "Your root is also all-knowing" is the cause, that is, cutting off the desire to act for oneself as the cause of falling into the lower realms, and the method of not falling into the lower realms, that is the meaning. The rest is easy to understand. Now, in order to conclude by showing the meaning of exchanging self and others itself, and the way of its benefits, therefore, it is said "that" etc. Abandoning one's own happiness, making other beings happy, in order to eliminate the suffering of others, accepting suffering oneself, then in order to accomplish the benefit of self and others, one should accomplish the exchange of self and others, that is the meaning. The meaning of the title of the treatise is the same as before. The sixth chapter, called the Chapter on Diligence, is finished. Having diligence will generate meditation, and from the equal abiding of the mind will generate the antidote to afflictions, the higher seeing, therefore the higher seeing

In order to generate (concentration), in order to generate the meaning of meditation, the cause of it, the seventh chapter called "Calm Abiding and Insight" etc. was taught. The verse "Having known that the afflictions are completely destroyed by the insight that is fully endowed with calm abiding," shows why calm abiding is sought. The rest shows how to seek it, that is, to abide in the assembly of calm abiding, and how to seek it when abiding in the assembly at the time of equanimity, which is shown by the two. The former, abiding in the assembly of calm abiding, includes abandoning attachment to the world and abiding in solitude. Among them, first, with regard to the first, "Without attachment to the world, one can achieve manifest attainment," this verse is a general indication. Because attachment to the world cannot be achieved by abiding in solitude, etc., therefore one cannot obtain calm abiding, but the opposite can be achieved, that is the meaning. Now, in order to explain this in detail, there are two: abandoning attachment to relatives, etc., and abandoning attachment to the eight worldly dharmas. For the time being, with regard to the first, because it is impermanent, one should not be attached. Relatives, etc., are also impermanent, so one should not be attached. One should think that they will quickly separate. Now, from the perspective of showing the faults of being particularly attached to relatives, etc., in order to abandon particular attachment to them, therefore, "Therefore," etc. were said. Among them, it is shown that the cause of particular attachment, the pleasing object, will not obtain the meaning of heaven and liberation. Furthermore, when seeing relatives, etc., one thinks, "What's the use of seeing them?" The mind will not be happy, and due to its influence, the mind will not equally abide in equanimity. So, is there any benefit in seeing them? Even if one sees them, one will not be satisfied. Like before, like the state of not being separated, if one does not separate now, one will be tormented by the desire of "Why not?" In order to show other faults, "For sentient beings," etc. were said. The so-called "completely obscured" is because of it, one will not think of the suffering of samsara. The so-called "ultimately" means that one will regret it at the time of death.

It is so. The so-called "meaningless" is because one has not begun to do good. The so-called "will be destroyed" is because one cannot attain Nirvana. The so-called "sharing the same fate" is because one follows non-virtuous deeds. The so-called "place of joy" is a place that brings joy. Furthermore, in order to show the characteristics of children, it is said "if one speaks of benefit" and so on. "Benefit" refers to virtuous deeds. "Eliminate" refers to those other paths. The rest is easy to understand. Sometimes one wonders, what should one do when encountering them? It is said "if one encounters" and so on. "Merely the meaning of the Dharma" refers to merely the cause for sustaining the teachings. The so-called "to all" refers to the patrons and so on. Now, the second is about abandoning attachment to the eight worldly dharmas, and in order to show their faults, it is said "I have gained much wealth, respect" and so on. So how should one abandon them? It is said "these" and so on, meaning "they are impermanent," therefore, it means that one will always be associated with them. In order to abandon liking and disliking praise and blame, it is said "blame me" and so on, meaning that not all sentient beings will praise or blame me, and merely because some do so, it is not worth liking or disliking. Why is it so? It is said "sentient beings," meaning because beliefs are various. It is said "gaining sentient beings" and so on, meaning that one should abandon associating with them. Now, from the collection of tranquility, the second is about going to a solitary place, and in order to show the benefits of staying in a solitary place, first, from the perspective of friends, in order to explain its benefits, it is said "forest." From the perspective of the benefit of not developing excessive attachment to body and possessions, it is said "cave" and so on, "not looking back" is because there is no fear of being robbed or killed. In order to show the benefit of not having the attachment of seeking forests and the attachment of not being able to abandon them, it is said "place" and so on.
