Instructing without being tainted by the impurities of their respective dissimilar aspects, and also for the sake of completely dedicating the root of virtue to the great Bodhi. Thus, in order, one should fully understand what is to be done specifically, as well as the support, the object, being skilled in means, purity, and with pure dedication. Therefore, the activity of a Bodhisattva is, in short, for the benefit of sentient beings, so it is said, "Is it direct?" and so on. Among these, what directly becomes beneficial is like the eleven types of precepts for benefiting sentient beings as described above. What indirectly becomes beneficial is like some meditations and wisdom. What becomes beneficial through both direct and indirect means is giving charity, and in order to have all the roots of virtue that have been done be encompassed by pure dedication, it is said, "Only for sentient beings," and so on. If we wonder, how should we know that guarding the training with mindfulness and examination? We should know it from two causes. The first cause is to show "constantly" and so on, and we should know it from possessing the two qualities of being wise and monastic. If asked, how not to abandon a spiritual friend? It is said, "Glorious Birth" and so on. With regard to the second cause, because this treatise states "from the Sutras," it is said, "this and" and so on. Alternatively, "this and" refers to how the trainings are taught here. "Other" refers to what is not spoken of here, all that has been spoken by the Thus-Gone One. All of these should be understood from the Sutras. Why? It is said, "Sutras" and so on. If asked, then, is there an order of reading for the Sutras? In order to first understand the root downfalls, it is said, "Akashagarbha" and so on. After that, in order to understand other subtle trainings, it is said, "Noble One" and so on. If asked, then, how is it said after that? It is said, "From where" and so on, from which Sutra, this should not be done with body and speech, this should not be meditated on with mind, whatever is not prohibited can be done, and what is prohibited should not be done. If asked, then, should all that is prohibited not be done?

It says "world" and so on. Here, it should be connected like this: In order to protect the mind of the world, one should not use it even after seeing the precepts. This means that although the Sutra Pitaka has already allowed giving whatever is needed to anyone and anything, one should not enjoy it after seeing the basis of the precepts that should be mainly protected, such as causing many people to be unhappy by giving something. Now, in order to summarize the characteristics of mindfulness that is practiced together, it says "body" and so on. Now, in order to show the key points of practice, it says "of the body" and so on. The meaning of the name of the treatise is the same as before. The meaning of the chapter name is explained from one aspect. The explanation of the fourth chapter is completed. In this way, since patience arises from generating bodhicitta and being restrained by vows, in order to prevent the accumulated merit from being wasted, and in order to initiate diligence in virtuous dharmas, the fifth chapter is taught. Among them, with two verses such as "kalpa", by showing the faults of anger and the benefits of patience, it briefly shows abandoning anger and cultivating patience. Now, from the perspective of extensive explanation, in order to show the faults of anger in this life, it says "anger arrow" and so on, where "peace" is the feeling of equanimity, and "joy" is of the body. "Unstable change" refers to the instability of bodily behavior. "Other faults" refers to servants and so on. "Giving kindness" refers to the master. "To him" refers to the master. "Those" refers to servants and so on. "The angry one" refers to being controlled by anger. "He" refers to the reason why even a very kind master will be resisted. "Giving does not gather relatives, nor is it a refuge" means that even if a servant is very generous, no one will associate with him because he is controlled by anger. "Living in happiness" refers to this life. "Those" means that not only is it harmful to this life, but it is also harmful to this life and the next, ignorance and self-grasping, and not only that, but it also directly harms oneself, others, and both.
