Also, because there is nothing to dedicate. Therefore, the establishment of different precepts is based on the intention of truly receiving them, and not based on the door of lineage and the door of the fruit to be obtained. If precepts can arise even in those who do not possess lineage, then what is the proximate cause for that? Thus, precepts can arise even in those who do not possess lineage, because, according to the conditions, the habit of entering into receiving precepts through the arising of intention exists in the Alaya consciousness, which has been without beginning. For example, just as other non-Buddhists enter into receiving precepts in order to liberate the self. That is also to obtain the fruit called liberation of the self, although there is no self-lineage called self, it is like entering into receiving precepts through the habit of elaboration. Furthermore, the so-called precepts also come from this Dharma: If the mind of renunciation is obtained, it is said to be the perfection of discipline. Therefore, isn't the mind of renunciation, together with habits, explained separately in accordance with the mind that possesses it? If it is not like that, then it is not contradictory for such precepts to arise even in those who do not possess lineage, so it is thought. It is enough to mention it in passing. Now, in order to expand the entry by means of protecting the precepts that have been truly received without degeneration, relying on unwavering diligence, two verses, such as "Thus, those with intelligence," have been taught. Now, in order to practice the precepts that have been truly received, relying on armor-like diligence, it has been taught from "Now, by all means," and so on, up to "satisfying the great guest of sentient beings." Among them, the first verse teaches us that because I was born into the most excellent of all lineages, in order not to disparage the lineage, we should strive to learn, and make the mind understand. The remaining verses, through the door of showing benefits, teach us to truly not degenerate, and to make the mind understand, that is, like the blind, etc., it has become like a wish-fulfilling jewel.

Therefore, it is shown that it can only be obtained through such difficulties. The two lines "Lord of death of beings" show that those with lineage can abandon the demon of the Lord of Death, which is its antidote. The four lines beginning with "Impoverished beings" show that the descendants of all five lineages can give the bliss of heaven and liberation and abandon the suffering of samsara. The two lines beginning with "Path of existence" show the cause of attaining the enlightenment of hearers and self-enlightened ones. The two lines "All beings" show that cutting off the lineage is the cause of rejoicing in happy migrations. The four lines beginning with "Afflictions of beings" show the cause of abandoning the two obscurations of afflictions and knowledge of those of the Mahayana lineage. In short, I generate the mind of enlightenment, and by studying the trainings, I accomplish the benefit of myself and others as much as possible, which is the main point. The two lines "Holy Dharma Milk" show that the person who enters following the Dharma is the essence of the path. How is it? Those people listen to the Dharma, etc., and understand how the nature of the Dharma abides, which is like churning milk. Great compassion arises for sentient beings other than them, and generating the mind of enlightenment for their benefit is like the essence of butter arising. The four lines beginning with "Guests of beings" show that the great guests of the Bodhisattvas, all sentient beings gathered by the five lineages, are given the feast of heaven and liberation, which is the supreme method. The four lines beginning with "I today" teach that in order to not deceive those guests, one should strive to practice the Bodhisattva's trainings. The meaning of the limbs is easy to understand. The meaning of the words Entering the Bodhisattva's Conduct is the same as before. Taking the mind of enlightenment is the ceremony of generating the mind. The explanation of the second chapter is complete. Thus, the work of perfectly taking the vows is entering into protection.
