Swords and the like are widely known as causes of suffering, but desires are not the same. Why? Because the suffering of evil destinies such as hell is spoken of in the scriptures, and it arises from mindfulness as an object. Weapons and the like are also the creators of suffering such as death at a certain time, while desires are the cause of unbearable suffering such as hell for a long time. How can they be examples of those sufferings? Thus, after speaking of the solitude of the body, then speaking of the solitude of the mind, in order to relate to the present situation, now it is said "desire" and so on, desire is the cause of destruction. In this order of speaking, making people feel weary and fearful, thereby generating greater joy in the joy of solitude previously mentioned. Where does one abide and act? To this, it is said in the scriptures, "argument" and so on, because there are no competitors, those places are free from argument, and because they are free from tigers, deer, snakes and thieves, they are joyful. Its benefits, it is said in the scriptures "fortunate" and so on, fortunate refers to those who act well, the moon is the moon itself, the light is the light, because it is in accordance with the nature of white and cool, so it is sandalwood. Those stone slabs filled with cool breezes are related to walking on them. What kind of characteristics does it have? It is pleasant, because they are inherently clean and pure, free from faults such as roughness. The wide stone slab pavilion, like a pavilion, is spacious. What kind of holy person walks on it? There is no sound, because it is free from discordant sounds. Peaceful and tranquil, not rough, having a comfortable touch, that is its meaning. The forest wind is the wind that shakes the trees. Walking means walking slowly and repeatedly. It is not just walking, but also for the benefit of others, it is also the mind that brings happiness to sentient beings. Yogis accomplish all this effortlessly, while those with desires need to strive to achieve it.

Yes. In this way, it is shown that the bliss of solitude is even more excellent than the bliss of the self-mastering gods. In order to show that those who dwell in solitude also have this uncommon bliss. Mentioning an empty room, etc., is easy to understand. "Acting freely," etc., is to clarify the meaning of what has been said, that I am myself, and acting freely is desire. Therefore, wherever the manner of acting freely exists, that is the meaning of acting freely. Thus, the virtues of solitude have been explained. Desiring to explain the proper occasion, therefore, it is said, "From that," etc. The term "from that" refers to the order previously mentioned, and the word "etc." also indicates that others are the same. "By form" means being separated by body and mind. Meditating on virtue means that, like this, the cause of all perfect happiness is happiness, because it repeatedly manifests in the mind. The cause of pacifying discursive thoughts is that when attention to what is not sacred becomes like that, one should cultivate the mind of enlightenment. Like this, cultivating a pure mind will give rise to the perfect state of the mind of enlightenment. The word "indeed" indicates excellence. Regarding this, for the time being, before one has completely placed oneself elsewhere, the mind of benefiting others and happiness will not be perfect, because self-grasping is particularly attached to oneself. Therefore, in order to reverse this, one must first cultivate equality between oneself and others, and afterwards it means exchanging oneself with others. "Like this" refers to the manner that will be explained. "Effort" means with great attachment. "Equality of happiness and suffering" means showing that state. There is not the slightest difference between me and these, just as I suffer and am harmed, so are they. Just as I accept happiness, so do they, that is to say, the happiness and suffering of all beings are equal, therefore, one should protect them as I do, for example.

Just as I am freed from suffering and the cause of suffering, so should other sentient beings be benefited. Just as one wants to be happy in all ways, so should others be protected as oneself. If it is not from oneself, wouldn't the various kinds of different sentient beings not become one? How can happiness and suffering be considered inseparable? In response to this, just like what is said about hands and so on, how can the many differences such as hands, feet, and head be protected by clinging to one body? It is to be freed from suffering and to attain happiness. Similarly, because of clinging to the sentient world as inseparable and one, I should protect them. The inseparability of happiness and suffering is also indicated by the implicit word "also." Just like the differences in parts such as hands, all these, that is, the different categories of various sentient beings, are also like that. The idea is this: even if this body does not have oneness, just as one becomes accustomed to clinging to oneness, it is the same for various sentient beings, there is no difference. If this is the case, if the sentient beings who are with you have the same nature, then how can your suffering not harm the continuum of other sentient beings? Similarly, it should be considered in reverse. Therefore, it is said, "If the body of others" and so on. If the body of others, that is, if the body of others is not harmed by my suffering, even so, the suffering is still mine. Why? Because of attachment to self, it is difficult to endure, it cannot be endured. This is a word of reasoning, and from the perspective of a part, it does not abandon the nature of suffering. Similarly, it should be said in reverse. Therefore, abandoning the difference between self and others, in order to eliminate the nature of suffering, it is said, "I with" and so on, whatever is suffering should be eliminated by me like eliminating my own suffering. The suffering of other sentient beings
