To seek it, suffering is generated in hell and so on. Seeking it in this way is the very cause of meaninglessness in both this life and the next. Accumulating it does not bring happiness either; to show that it is only suffering, "child" and so on are spoken. Because there is no ability to increase wealth in the state of childhood, how or in what way does the child himself, when this child grows up, that is, when he reaches the age of youth, become happy, but not even slightly happy because of being separated from wealth, that is the meaning. Or, relying on the wealth accumulated by father and grandfather and so on, one obtains happiness in youth, even so, it is not certain for everyone individually. Here, one is also not liberated from the two sufferings mentioned earlier. First of all, accumulating wealth is urgently needed, because it is a method of accomplishing happiness, even in the process of accumulating it, for some who are declining in youth, it is not an object of need. If that is the case, will they enjoy the pleasure of desire at that time? "Desire-holder" and so on are spoken, some people with minds distracted by inferior desires, collecting trees, grass, leaves, and so on, working like slaves, exhausted in body and mind by the burden of work under the scorching sun, without joy. When the sun sets, they return to their homes and sleep like corpses. Again, they rise early in the morning and engage in that inferior work. The word "became" is an ornament of speech, because it is a past event. Some desire-holders spend their lives in this way, but do not taste the flavor of the pleasure of desire. In order to show others, "punishment" and so on are spoken, some are more attached to evil than the previous ones, meaning they are attendants. Through punishment, marching, and so on, marching to conquer the armies of others, that is, going, or going to seize the wealth of other countries. Like this, those who are invited as guests and so on are ultimately completely troubled by afflictions because of going to other places, therefore they are those who are completely tormented by suffering.

In all circumstances, it became like that, even though possessions were exhausted in many places, sons and wives were not seen, and it did not become a place of enjoyment. The so-called "as desired" means that because he sought sons and wives, etc., those are desires, and for the sake of those desires, he promised to serve others, etc., that is the meaning. Alas, these people are practicing without result! Therefore, he said with great sorrow, "I," etc. Oneself is deceived by desire, for what purpose? To sell oneself for the reason of obtaining happiness, and become a slave to others. Not obtaining that is not obtaining that happiness. Just gathering together meaninglessly exhausting the practice of others' deeds, that is, not combining with any good deeds. In order to show that those who enter wanting to obtain happiness will instead fall into the same suffering, therefore, "some" etc. was said. Because they want to enjoy happiness, they sell themselves to others and become slaves to others. Whatever one's own body is, it is called that, so those others are the meaning. Therefore, those who are always urging and have that kind of mentality, when running errands for other masters, women will give birth on the road. The so-called under the tree, temples, etc., through the word "etc.," refers to difficult places such as mountainsides or riverbanks. In order to show that there is no such reversal in those places either, "desire" etc. was said. Selling one's own possessions and entering a place where four teeth grow. What has it become like? Just like fearing to lose one's life. Entering there, will one live or not? Because of fearing to lose one's life, one has done this. Here, obtaining gains is considered a reason for survival, and one must survive, that is the conclusion. Because of arrogance, one goes to be a slave. The so-called "because of arrogance, one goes to be a slave" refers to cutting off fingers in order to eliminate one's arrogance when some powerful people cause harm, and promising to be close in order to control time. Ignorance is when the eye of wisdom is blinded by the darkness of delusion.
