Through its union, afflictions are destroyed and abandoned, this should be known and understood. Those who desire liberation from afflictions should first seek, that is, initially approach and cultivate calm abiding. This is the concluding statement. After that is insight, that is, knowing what it is like through meditative equipoise. As it is said: 'If meditative equipoise is practiced correctly, one will know as the Buddha said.' By preventing external movements, the mind will not waver from peace. This is calm abiding. World, that is, taking the world as the object. Without dependence is abandoning manifest joy. It is accomplished by itself, not by others, this is the meaning. Wanting to rely on extensive scriptures to explain manifest joy and non-dependence. Therefore, it is said impermanent and so on. Who is a sentient being, will be attached to his own impermanence, that is, to impermanent things such as sons? By what cause, by what reason, can it be reasonable? Thousands of kalpas are many rebirths, revolving in the endless cycle, even if destroyed a hundred times, suffering has not been seen. Furthermore, because it makes one happy, it is called suffering, but it does not exist here. If you have not seen it, then it is said. When, when it is seen for a while, then joy will not arise here, because of displeasure, it will not abide in samadhi, that is, it will become unstable. Therefore, there is no power in that object, because the mind is distracted, this is the meaning. Or, even if suffering is seen here, it will not be satisfied, but will be tormented by even stronger desire. Because one wants to see it, it is the same as before, as if one had not seen it, one will feel pain. Furthermore, in order to show that the cause of all loss of meaning is meeting with suffering. Therefore, it is said 'truly become' and so on, because one wants to meet with suffering, one does not see, that is, does not understand, the virtues and faults that have truly become, that is, without error. Because of attachment, one becomes tired, and the world will also decline. Because one wants to meet with it, one will be burned, because of that sorrow, even for a moment, the continuum
