All virtues are by no means insignificant. Having fully ripened, there is no ability to produce fruit again. Just because of that, the ripening here is exhausted. Moreover, the ripening cannot be predicted, so there is no subsequent connection with the fruit. Chapter Two. Furthermore, the excellence of this mind of enlightenment is spoken of as "constant," and so on. Constant, that is, at all times, unlike other virtues, the beings born in gods and humans do not become exhausted after having perfect happiness, because it has a stable nature. And, at every moment, it is filled with various kinds of accumulation of virtue. Increasing by giving is the tree of the mind of enlightenment, because it constantly gives the fruit of perfect happiness, and constantly produces the excellence of other qualities. The mind of enlightenment is likened to a tree, like the abbreviated phrase "constant person," and so on. Because it is so, those beings who desire to obtain constant and excellent perfect happiness should hold this mind of enlightenment. This is also revealed in the Teaching of Inexhaustible Intelligence. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, for example, a drop of water falling into the great ocean will not disappear or be exhausted until the end of the kalpa. Similarly, the root of virtue completely dedicated to enlightenment will not disappear or be exhausted until it reaches the essence of enlightenment. Furthermore, the mind of enlightenment not only increases all good, but it is also the cause of exhausting the side of non-virtue, which is revealed by one and a half verses. It is said, "Sins are extremely," and so on. From fully holding the mind of enlightenment, the sins and non-virtuous deeds previously committed are intolerable because they produce unbearable suffering in hells and so on, and are extremely frightening or great. For those who have the mind of enlightenment

Depending on, what is done by depending is the nature of arising, guarding, increasing, and relying. In an instant, just by arising it, one can quickly accumulate great merit. Being able to liberate means that one will definitely be liberated, meaning that by its power one subdues and transcends. How is it? Just like relying on bravery and being fearless. For example, some people suffer great harm, but by relying on a powerful person, they can be liberated, because they will not be afraid of the consequences of suffering harm, just like the present situation. For such a supreme Bodhicitta, how can those ignorant beings, lacking wisdom, foolish beings, not rely on, not depend on it? It means that one should rely on it. This is his thought. This is also said in the same sutra: 'Good son, for example, relying on a brave person, one will not fear all enemies. Similarly, relying on the brave Bodhisattva who has generated Bodhicitta, the Bodhisattva will not fear all the enemies of evil deeds.' Another example of how Bodhicitta can exhaust sins is what is said in the sutra, 'With that end of time' and so on. The end of time refers to the time of destruction. Fire refers to the fire that arises when seven suns appear. For example, just as all the desire realm including the first dhyana is completely burned, burned to ashes, and not even ashes remain, so are sins. What will it become like? Whichever Bodhicitta, it can burn the huge, Mount Sumeru-like, loud crying and other painful ripening results, and by destroying its ripening results, it disappears from the root. In an instant, it is not a long time. Therefore, one should add 'Why do ignorant beings not rely on it'. This is also said in the same sutra: 'It can burn all sins, like the fire of the end of time. It can make all unwholesome dharmas disappear, like the water underground.' The Blessed One said.

Wasn't it said that what has been done will not be wasted? If so, how should this be explained? It is indeed so, but it should be explained in this way. The accumulation of merit, such as the mind of enlightenment, in each and every moment, is absorbed into the great expanse that pervades the realm of space, just like an ounce of salt in the ocean, because it cannot be seen; and because the opposing side has strength and can overwhelm the other, it has no ability to produce fruit, and this itself is burned, so there is no fault. Or, the saying "it will be exhausted if not used" refers to the situation where there is no skillful means. And this (bodhicitta) is the great skillful means that can eliminate all sins from the root. In this way, when a Bodhisattva wants to liberate all sentient beings pervading the realm of space from all suffering and bestow upon them all perfect happiness, he will think with a supreme intention, and by constantly repenting of the sins committed in the past, he will exhaust them. At that time, by the very power of the mind of enlightenment, how can sins arise in his continuum? And how can there be room for argument? Everything will not be confused. Therefore, it is said in the sutra, "What other virtue can overcome it?" This has also been clarified. Others say that all of this is said with regard to the uncertain ripening of karma, because if the ripening of karma is certain, no action can stop it. In this way, it is said in the sutra, "The mind of enlightenment should be generated," so what is the benefit of the mind of enlightenment? It is the quality of becoming self-nature. Immeasurable is immeasurable. The Loving Protector is the Bhagavan Maitreya. What is it like? It is having wisdom, that is, the Bodhisattva. Explanation is being explained. To whom is it explained? It is to Sudhana, that is, the Bodhisattva Sudhana. In this way, in the Gandavyuha Sutra, it is said, "Noble son, the mind of enlightenment is like the seed of all the Buddha's teachings. It makes the white dharmas of all beings grow, so it is like a field. It makes all the worlds stable, so it is like the earth." Even the Bodhisattvas
