Those sentient beings are themselves suffering, pitiable, killing, and tormenting. At that time, how can they avoid harming other bodies, other bodies? Therefore, they are objects of compassion, not objects of hatred. Thus it is said. The so-called afflictions, etc., are like eating meat, being driven mad by afflictions, those who do harm, for those who enter the path of teaching through the door of harming themselves or harming others, it is not just that they have no compassion, it is not just that. Ordinary people or intermediaries are also not suitable to do that, to generate hatred towards objects of compassion, what is this talk? It is extremely inverted. Therefore, one must also transform one's own mind, the so-called "if" etc., is said in this way. Like this, here two observations should be made: if the nature of each child is to harm others, then, why does your nature not harm others? One should not refute and observe, one should completely observe, I should not hate them, for example, fire burns because the nature of fire is to burn. Otherwise, if there is not that, then its nature itself will disappear. In the manner of the second observation, the so-called "however" etc., is said in this way. However, this fault is sudden, different from becoming its nature, and the nature of sentient beings is mind, the nature is luminosity, therefore it is pure, not deceitful, and hatred itself is the nature of hatred, not sentient beings, in that case, one should not be angry with those sentient beings who have a pure nature. Like what? Just like where there is smoke billowing, the sky is without defilement, there is no nature of smoke billowing, but there is smoke. Therefore, that fault should be considered the fault of the smoke itself, not the sky that is completely pure by nature. Therefore, one should be angry with faults, not with sentient beings. Furthermore, one should be angry with the main cause of suffering, not with the main cause.

To what is not, say it is not. It is said, "sticks, etc." For a body whose mind has not been tamed, being struck by a stick causes suffering, therefore the stick itself is the direct cause of suffering, so it is reasonable to be angry at it. However, if it is thrown by another, what fault is there in the stick, etc.? Therefore, the thrower himself becomes the one at fault. Well, if that is the case, then that person also acts with hatred like a stick, so I should be angry at the hatred that throws, not at the thrower. Furthermore, thinking carefully, no one enjoys pleasures and sufferings without giving them up. Even if others cause harm, one should not be angry with them. It is said, "I," etc. Because I also tormented other sentient beings in previous lives in this way, it is reasonable for them to harm me according to the principle of repaying debts. One should think that this harm is the result of the ripening of my karma. From what arises, it arises from that, and not from another. Thinking in this way, it is taught not to think that it is unreasonable for others to cause harm. It is said, "its symbol," etc. A collection of causes that is not incomplete is the cause of all effects. This is determined by valid cognition. It is the same here. Like this, the symbol of the one who causes harm, swords, etc., and my body, the nature of the collection of these two is the cause of suffering. When there is such a capable cause, how can a result not arise? Otherwise, it would not be its cause, and others would also arise from it. Therefore, if one is angry at the proximate cause, then one should also be angry at oneself. Therefore, you yourselves are also holding and approaching the cause of suffering, and since you are not angry at yourselves, it is not reasonable to be angry at others, you should think in this way. To clarify the meaning of the teaching in another way, it is said, "boils," etc. I hold this body, which is like a ripe boil, because it is the cause of all suffering. Destroying.

Everything is unbearable because it cannot be eliminated even by beating and striking, etc. It is for the sake of abandoning suffering, and for the desire to obtain happiness, which is desire. When blinded by it, the eye of wisdom is obscured, and since there is harm in it, who should be angry at? One should not be angry at the suffering caused by thorns, walls, etc., and those who possess discrimination. Furthermore, if one does not seek the fruit, one should abandon its cause. I have become a perverted person, and in contemplating this, it is said "child" etc. A child is one who possesses the perverted dharma of a child. Suffering, that is, the unpleasantness arising from being struck by sticks etc., and also the cause of it, the body and further harm, is due to the karma of action. Therefore, the suffering of one's own body is this which arises from one's own fault. Therefore, why should one blame others? It is merely acting together with it. Because it is like assembling weapons oneself for the purpose of harming oneself, one should not be angry at others. For example, it is said "hell" etc. The sword-leaf forest is where sentient beings' hell arises, because there are sword-leaves there. The mention of sword is because it is the main one. Other wheels and weapons that are the cause of suffering in sentient beings' hell should also be included. The vultures, owls, crows, and other birds dwelling in that forest, just as the cause of suffering is produced by one's own karma, since there is no other cause of suffering, similarly, these other weapons etc. are also the cause of suffering. Since this is produced by one's own karma, who should one be angry at? In order to show that this is also perverted, it is said "my karma" etc. Because being driven by my karma, thereby harming me, therefore the harmers appear and exist in the hell of sentient beings, therefore, have I not harmed and destroyed them? One should strive to think about one's own mind in this way.
