Yes. Regarding that unbearable suffering, temporarily preventing it, it is said to be the cause of happiness, etc. Even if one closely relies on the side of virtue with great effort, occasionally or a hundred times, happiness in samsara with defilements is extremely difficult to obtain. Suffering, on the other hand, is easy to obtain at any time, because it is accomplished without effort. Therefore, becoming accustomed to it is not difficult, because it is familiar at all times. In this way, even the method of definitely escaping from samsara is suffering itself. Since this is the case, it is reasonable to fully accept it as provisions. For what reason is this so? Therefore, alas! Mind, in order to experience suffering, rely on suffering, and do not remain steadfast in hatred. Ninth Chapter. However, one should think that this suffering should be relied upon in order to accomplish great meaning. It is said, "Zodun Tunmo," etc. The son of Zodun Tunmo is the son of Tunmo. On the ninth day of the middle autumn month (mid-August in the Tibetan calendar), etc., after performing Uposatha for three days or one day, one experiences the fruitless suffering of burning, cutting, and piercing the body. Similarly, in Karnataka and other places, northerners are arrogant simply by writing the names of their predecessors, competing with each other, experiencing suffering through various actions, and even abandoning their lives. If I am striving to attain the state of Buddhahood, which is extremely rare for myself and others, why should I be troubled by suffering? Then, if that is the case, if one can endure very small suffering, then how should one rely on it in order to be liberated from the suffering of having one's hands, feet, and head cut off, etc., or from the suffering of sentient beings in hell, etc.? Here it is said, "If one becomes accustomed," etc. Whether it is becoming accustomed to treatises, or being skilled in arts, etc., or experiencing small, medium, and great suffering, there is nothing that does not become an object of habituation, there is not even a little of such a thing, because all things can be mastered through habit, one should think in this way.

It is so. Because one becomes accustomed to very small harms and so on, therefore, one cannot endure even the great harms of sentient beings in hell and so on. Because after being extremely accustomed for a long time, it again completely transforms into the nature of happiness, it is a traveler, therefore the happiness of Bodhisattvas is itself suffering. As it is said: In this regard, if one first becomes accustomed to small suffering, then even the extremely difficult to endure happiness will become accustomed. For example, due to the power of habit, misers perceive suffering as happiness, similarly, all arising of suffering, abides near the perception of happiness. Due to habit, one will abide near the perception of happiness. Thus, the result corresponding to the cause will also obtain the samadhi called "Going happily in all dharmas." In the Sutra of Meeting Father and Son, the Blessed One, there is a samadhi called "Going happily in all dharmas." By what does one obtain this samadhi, the Bodhisattva will only experience the feeling of happiness for all objects of focus, and will not experience the feeling of suffering. Neither suffering nor non-suffering and non-happiness is experienced. In this regard, even if harmed by the harm of hell beings, one will abide near the perception of happiness. Even if harmed by the harm of humans, one will abide near the perception of happiness. Even if a hand is cut off, or a foot, or an ear, or a nose is cut off, one will abide near the perception of happiness. Even if whipped with a whip, or whipped with a half whip, or whipped with a whip, one will abide near the perception of happiness. Even if imprisoned, or smoked like a vessel of poison, or beaten like sugarcane being beaten, or cut like wood being cut, or burned like a butter lamp, even cut to the size of a kārṣāpaṇa, or fried like rice flour being fried, even if elephants harm without reason, the perception of happiness will arise, as extensively explained in the scriptures. If one first becomes accustomed to small harms, the situation is indeed so, however, if one thinks that this does not exist, then here it says snakes and so on. Have you not seen the meaningless suffering caused by snakes and so on? This is established without effort.
