As the Buddha said, "If you do not strive, you will fall into the lower realms." Thus it is said. One should always examine with mindfulness and awareness, as it is said. Among them, mindfulness shows its own nature by its name. If one does not know awareness, asking what is awareness like? To show its own nature, it says "body" and so on. That is, regarding the state of the body and the state of consciousness, what kind of behavior it is, one should always separately observe and determine, as previously stated. In order to determine that one should not be satisfied with merely being proficient in and accomplishing the words of all the teachings, it says "with the body" and so on. The mind is the precursor of what the body does, so it is also shown by this. One should accomplish everything with diligence, not just by proclaiming words, because there is no result. Bodhisattvas should strive. How to strive? Just as reading the medical scriptures without practicing them, one will be troubled by disease, how can one achieve the result? Thinking like this, just by that, the disease will not be cured. Therefore, all those activities should be completed with diligence. Difficult Commentary on Entering the Bodhisattva's Conduct, written by Wisdom Born Intelligence, Chapter Five is completed. Thus, while teaching various pure precepts, it also teaches guarding and purifying the body and so on, in order to teach pure virtue, one should seek patience and hearing. After that, one should live in the forest. One should strive in meditation, and should cultivate the impure contemplation and so on. In order to proclaim these, one strives. The so-called "kalpa" and so on, that is, all of them, refers to the good conduct arising from properly upholding the precepts, which is the nature of virtue. Giving generally has three aspects. Offering to the Sugatas also has three aspects. Whatever has been accumulated and created in thousands of kalpas will be destroyed by anger, that is, completely abandoning anger towards all sentient beings. A small fire can burn four piles of grass roots.

It burns it to ashes. In the Sutra of the Holy Manjushri's Play, it is said: Manjushri, anger, anger is said to destroy the virtue accumulated for hundreds of kalpas. Therefore, it is called anger. It is also said in the Sarvastivada: Monks, look at this monk who prostrates with all his limbs to the stupa of hair and nails on his head, and harmonizes his mind. Venerable one, yes. Monks, this monk, under the ground he treads, at eighty-four thousand yojanas, until he reaches the gold-made land, as many dust particles as there are, this monk will enjoy hundreds of millions of times the kingdom of a wheel-turning king. From then on, the venerable Ananda approached the Blessed One, where he was, and bowed with folded palms, and said: Blessed One, as the Blessed One has said, this monk's root of virtue is so great, Blessed One, where will this root of virtue be diminished, purified, and exhausted? The Blessed One taught: Ananda, as long as a pure practitioner has not aroused hatred towards a fellow practitioner, until then, he has not truly seen the time of its exhaustion and decay. Ananda, this great root of virtue will also be diminished, purified, and exhausted. Therefore, even towards a spark, one should not be angry in one's mind, let alone towards a body with consciousness? Therefore, as it is said in the sutra, "like hatred" and so on. There is no sin like hatred. There is no non-virtue that can overcome the cause of merit. There is no asceticism equal to patience. In order to achieve through great effort, one should practice well. Because it is so, patience is patience, and it should be cultivated with all diligence, and one should become accustomed to it. Various means the various methods that will be explained below. Showing the faults of the present dharma with three verses, as it is said in the sutra, "hatred" and so on. Peace is extreme peace. Not experiencing decay is without reliance.
