If the agent is empty, then things should also exist, so that the horns of a horse, etc., should also become truly existent. How does the agent speak of what has happened in the past, future, and present? Is there an agent other than this? Or is it done by itself? The former has no entry, and for the latter, for the Dharma, there is not the slightest loss in establishing the aspects of the past, etc., by itself. If what is happening now exists as a substance, and the past and future also exist in the same way, then at that time, how can a Dharma that exists by its own nature be the nature of not being born and not being destroyed? Is it said that what has not happened like this is born from non-existence? Furthermore, it is non-existent from the outside, because it is non-existent that it is said to be destroyed. If it itself always exists in the previous and later times, then it will become an observable object, etc., as it is happening now. Therefore, because it has not happened, the non-existent Dharma is not walking, and if it is admitted to have three times, then the past, etc., do not exist. To this, here is a summary verse: Self-nature exists at all times, and does not want things to be constant either, things and non-things are not different, clearly it is the realm of freedom. This is the meaning of the verse. If it is said that past actions exist and future results exist, then the words of the sutras that speak of past things, etc., are also to dispel the view of slandering cause and effect, so the Blessed One said: The past exists, the future exists. The past is what has already happened, has been born, and has been destroyed; the future is what will arise if there is a cause. In this way, it is said that causes, etc., exist, and the word "exists" is a conjunction, so it can be used in the three times. Therefore, the Blessed One declared emptiness in the ultimate truth in this way: Monks, when the eye arises, there is no place from which it comes; when it ceases, there is no place to go. In this way, monks, the eye will arise from the unborn, and after arising, it will also cease. If the eye exists in the future, then the future
