This is not established, because we see sprouts and the like arising from seeds and the like. Seeds and sprouts are not the same, because both their shape, taste, function, and manner of ripening are different. Even if it is to generate its own nature, some will not turn into growth, because they are mutually dependent. Like this, as long as it has not turned into its own nature, growth is unreasonable; likewise, as long as it has not turned into growth, it will not turn into its own nature, therefore they are mutually dependent. Therefore, arising from oneself is completely impossible. Nor is it from another, because if it is thought to arise from another, then the seed should also be able to produce a barley sprout, because rice and barley are no different in being other with respect to the barley sprout. Everything arising from everything would also occur, because there is no difference between everything and the other. However, if even if there is no difference in being other, but if that is the case, the cause and effect should be mutually generated, and the things that generate and are generated are definite, therefore it will not arise from everything. If you say that, for the unproduced result, what should be said to have the ability? For the produced, because there is no cause and effect, what should be said to have the ability? Because the times of cause and effect are different, the things that generate and are generated It is also impossible for each to be determined separately. For that very reason, it is also unreasonable to think that it is constant, because without cause and effect, constancy is impossible. Because it only exists for a moment, what is constancy? The entry of previous and subsequent moments is also imputed by conceptual thought, therefore the constancy that has become a thing does not exist. Through this, the determination of similarity is also clear here, even so, in some and some, becoming constant or similar, or the determination of the things that generate and are generated does not exist, because the generator and the generated also need to be examined here, so how can this be the answer to that? Therefore, arising from another is also completely impossible.

No, it is not either, because if it is said to be from each side, it would fall into the fault of determining a side. If the two of each do not have the ability, then the collection also does not have the ability. A path that one blind person cannot see, many blind people also cannot see. If each grain of sand does not have the ability to extract oil, then the collection will also not have that ability. Therefore, if it is said to be from both sides, it would fall into a fault, so it is not born from both. In this way, being born from self, other, and both, and also being born from no cause, are not truly existent. Therefore, in the ultimate truth, the nature of not being born and not ceasing, like illusion and mirage, is dependent arising, emptiness of inherent existence, appearing as the essence of all kinds of phenomena. These mere conditions are not an obstruction to conventional truth here. As the Bhagavan said in the Salu Green Tree Sutra, how is dependent arising seen? To this, the Bhagavan said, whoever sees dependent arising as permanent, lifeless, separated from life, suchness, non-erroneousness, unborn, unarisen, unmade, unconditioned, unobstructed, without object, peaceful, fearless, unseizable, and of unchanging nature, sees the Dharma. Whoever sees the Dharma in this way, also as permanent, lifeless, separated from life, etc., is as before. As long as he sees it as of unchanging nature, he realizes the noble Dharma, possesses true wisdom, and sees the unsurpassed Dharmakaya Buddha. Then, why is it called dependent arising? Because it is related to cause and conditions, and not related to no cause and no conditions, as said before. Likewise, dependent arising also arises from two things, which two? That is, related to cause and related to conditions. It can also be seen as two forms, outer and inner. Among them, the outer

What is the relationship between dependent origination and cause? It is like this: from a seed comes a sprout, from a sprout comes a leaf, from a leaf comes a stem, from a stem comes a bud, from a bud comes a core, from a core comes a flower, and from a flower comes a fruit. If there is no seed, a sprout will not arise; if there is no flower, a fruit will not arise either. If there is a seed, a sprout will manifestly arise and grow; similarly, if there is a flower, a fruit will manifestly arise and grow. However, the seed does not think, 'I will make the sprout manifest.' The sprout also does not think, 'I am brought forth by the seed.' Similarly, the flower does not think, 'I will make the fruit manifest,' and the fruit does not think, 'I am brought forth by the flower.' Nevertheless, if there is a seed, the sprout will manifestly arise and grow, and similarly, if there is a flower, the fruit will manifestly arise and grow. Therefore, external dependent origination should be regarded as related to cause. How should external dependent origination be regarded as related to conditions? It is because the six elements are assembled. Which six elements are assembled? It is like this: earth, water, fire, wind, space, and the element of time are assembled, therefore external dependent origination should be regarded as related to conditions. Among them, the earth element performs the function of being the basis for the seed. The water element performs the function of moistening the seed. The fire element performs the function of completely warming the seed. The wind element performs the function of swelling the seed. The space element performs the function of not obstructing the seed. Time performs the function of transforming the seed. Without these conditions, a sprout will not manifestly arise from the seed. When the external earth element is complete and without deficiency, and similarly, water, fire, wind, space, and time are also complete and without deficiency, when all are assembled and the seed ceases, then a sprout will manifestly arise and grow from it. Among them, the earth element also does not think, 'I
