If asked, how many are there? Like hands, etc., those become as many limbs as there are hands and feet, etc., those numbers are completely determined, and those with limbs related to them also become that many, because it (the body) is completely composed of all indivisible parts. It is not many arising from many connections, therefore it will not become another single one. This inference can also be applied to the case of many entering the same area, similarly, for turning and not turning, obscuring and not obscuring, moving and not moving, it should also be stated as appropriate. In this way, the body that can be recognized by valid means such as direct perception does not exist, because there is the aforementioned obstruction. To establish this, it is concluded: inside and outside, etc. It is said that the internal agent (Pudgala) is because it is obstructed. In order to analyze flesh and blood, etc., that is not the internal body. Now, in order to refute those with limbs, the external, that is, the external that becomes the object of valid means such as direct perception, is not earth. In this way, how can the body be established as hands, etc.? Or will it be different from hands, etc.? The answer is: hands, etc., etc. It means that apart from the limbs such as hands, there is no other characteristic that can be identified, it cannot be identified. Only hands, etc. can be identified. In this way, whatever is not the nature of limbs, etc., and there is no relationship dependent on it. The inside does not exist either. There is nothing different from it either. That, refers to the body. How does it exist? How means, since the body cannot be identified, then it is impossible for it to exist, this itself is raising a question. In what way? Ah! This is an analysis. Existence, refers to establishing its existence. When analyzed in this way, if the body cannot be established, then it is called non-existence, in order to summarize this, therefore, etc. It means that therefore it is said that the body does not exist, because

Since it is not determined by stating the examination, therefore, the body does not arise from the non-determination that has become the characteristic of determination. If it does not exist, then how does the cognition of the body arise for the hands and so on? It is said, "From ignorance," etc., from ignorance is from the power of ignorance. "Also" indicates that for things like hands, which are separated from a single entity, the cognition of the body arises, but from the ultimate truth, it is not so. Or, the word "also" is something that must be grasped. Like this, from beginningless samsara, due to the power of accumulating the habit of repeatedly experiencing birth and death, even if one fully understands the suchness of how things exist, from that, conceptual thoughts of inverted clinging will arise. Because of its close connection to this, the terms body and so on are used in the world, but from the ultimate truth, it is not so. How does it not become something else? To this it is said, "Arranged into a shape," that is, arranged into the shape of hands and feet, etc. The difference of that itself is different from others. The so-called "cause of confusion" is only the hands and so on, not all, because each object is definite. If the intention of confusion is how? It's like having the thought of a person for a post. Just as the post itself has no human nature, but has shapes like standing upright that are similar to a man. When the difference in shape is determined, due to not understanding the difference for a long time, and the confusion of some other differences, the cognition of a man arises. Similarly, it is also so for the situation at hand. Therefore, in any case, it is dependent on this, and due to ignorance itself, it is the cognition of the body, not a real thing. If you ask how this is, to this it is said, "As long as the conditions," etc. How long does that last? The conditions that are limited within the boundary of time, that is, the causes. That is, the six elements such as earth, and the six sense sources such as touch, and the eighteen mental activities, the body is like a person until that time limit of the accomplishment of the collection dependent on karma. For example, even though the nature of a person is empty in the ultimate truth, the completely imputed nature appears as the nature of a person and is spoken of.
