I will become. And when first entering suffering beings, it will become the cause of accumulation. In this way, being confused for the sake of the fruit is to acknowledge the nature of conventional truth. Therefore, first, compassion is directed towards sentient beings themselves, then towards benefiting others, and then towards having no object of focus. The thought is this: in any way, sentient beings do not exist, but in conventional terms, the aggregates and so on are referred to by the word "I." As the Bhagavan said: Any śrāmaṇa or brāhmaṇa who correctly sees "I" sees these five aggregates. Therefore, if one examines again with wisdom, in the ultimate truth, sentient beings are not to be focused on, but in this way, it is not an obstacle in the conventional truth. As it is said: Whoever cultivates the ultimate and conventional with wisdom, and relies on compassion, how will you measure the meaning of beings without inherent existence? When you generate the ten powers, without compassion, then you will cherish beings like a father cherishes a suffering son. Thus it is said. In the fourth praise, it is also said: Protector, your concept of sentient beings does not enter in any way. Sentient beings are afflicted by suffering, you are the master of extreme compassion. Thus it is said. Therefore, for form and so on, in this way, they are referred to by the name of conventional truth. Therefore, compassion is not without an object. If there are no sentient beings in the ultimate truth, then whose is the fruit? Therefore, thinking that someone will enter in order to accomplish it, it is said "no sentient being, no fruit" and so on. The so-called "no sentient being" means when there are no sentient beings. At that time, since there is no follower, form and so on arise and then perish, whose is the fruit? It is no one's, that is its meaning. Acknowledging "true" is acknowledging that it is so. The so-called "desire" is like this, we desire, there is not even a little bit of fruit in the ultimate truth, because all dharmas are without an owner. If so, then why enter in the beginning in order to accomplish it? The so-called "here" refers to such a practice.

Therefore, in order to obtain that fruit, it is in accordance with the actions of ignorance. If one clings to the idea that "only this can become the fruit," even if there are no sentient beings, it is still within the realm of conventional truth. Apart from dependent arising, because of the nature of illusion, all phenomena have no attachment to substantiality. As it is said: Absence of desire is emptiness. Like a mirage, it arises from conditions. Protector, you have thoroughly shown that all phenomena are without inherent existence. So it is said. Therefore, in conventional truth, acting for the sake of the fruit is in accordance. If ignorance is the nature of unknowing, and therefore should not be accepted in any way, then how can it be acknowledged again? It is said, including suffering and so on. Ignorance is of two kinds: one is the cause of entering samsara, and the other is the cause of pacifying it. Among them, that which is the cause of samsara is what should be abandoned. The other is for the sake of pacifying the continuation of suffering, and is the reason for stopping the suffering of all sentient beings' births and so on. The fruit is ignorance, and the fruit is for the sake of realizing the nature of ultimate truth. That ignorance should not be reversed, it should not be negated, it should be accepted, because it is needed for the ultimate truth. The thought is this: this necessity, even if great beings desire it for their own happiness, is not good, but in order to cut off all the ultimate suffering of all sentient beings, that also becomes the method for realizing the ultimate truth. And what becomes the method for that is conventional truth, because without conventional truth, ultimate truth cannot be realized. Therefore, the pacification of suffering is the fruit of ignorance. This fruit, in the case of "without examining the meaning of necessity," has already been explained before, and now it is explained again in detail. If that is the case, since it is the cause of pacifying suffering, then just as acknowledging that the fruit is the nature of ignorance, the ignorance of self should also be established, because that is its cause. Then, how can the self be refuted?
