It does not exist by relying on a place; it does not exist by relying on the south, the west, the north, below, above, and the intermediate directions. It is not here, it is not there, nor is it in between, but at other times, at the time of death, when life is near its end, the power of breath control is about to cease. When life is completely exhausted, and the karmas of similar fate are also exhausted, at the time when the last consciousness ceases. This is like waking up from sleep, and a beautiful object is apprehended by the mind. Great King, for him, by the power of the last consciousness and the object of karma, and by the two factors, the first consciousness belonging to the category of birth arises. In hell, or the birthplace of animals, or the world of Yama, or the assembly of Asuras, or humans, or gods, the first consciousness will arise. The first consciousness belongs to the category of birth, and immediately after it ceases, without interruption, the stream of consciousness that will experience the fruition manifests, like fate. Among them, the cessation of the last consciousness is counted as death. The arising of the first consciousness is called birth. Great King, in this way, no dharma is transferred from this world to another world, but death and birth are manifest. Great King, the last consciousness, at the time of birth, does not come from anywhere. At the time of cessation, it does not go anywhere either. Karma also, at the time of birth, does not come from anywhere. At the time of cessation, it does not go anywhere either. The first consciousness also, at the time of birth, does not come from anywhere. At the time of cessation, it does not go anywhere either. Why is that? Because there is no inherent existence. The last consciousness is empty of consciousness, karma is empty of karma, the first consciousness is empty of the first consciousness, death is empty of death, birth is empty of birth. However, karma does not become without result, this is also manifest, and experiencing the fruition is also manifest. Therefore, it is only a designation of name, there is nothing deeper, thus it was extensively taught. Similarly, hatred and delusion...

How should one describe the arising of phenomena with wisdom? Also, in the Rice Seedling Sutra: Furthermore, not understanding it as it is, knowing it wrongly, that is ignorance. If there is ignorance, the three kinds of formations will manifestly be established, namely, approaching merit, approaching non-merit, and approaching immovability. Among them, from the formations that approach merit, it will transform into the consciousness that approaches merit, and these are called formations conditioned by ignorance. From the formations that approach non-merit, it will transform into the consciousness that approaches non-merit, and this is called consciousness conditioned by formations. From the formations that approach immovability, it will transform into the consciousness that approaches immovability, and this is called name and form conditioned by consciousness. As name and form increase, actions are performed through the doors of the six sense sources, and this is called the six sense sources conditioned by name and form. From these six sense sources arise the six groups of contact, and this is called contact conditioned by the six sense sources. Just as contact arises, so does feeling arise, and this is called feeling conditioned by contact. Experiencing those differences in feeling, feeling pleasure, being particularly attached, and dwelling in attachment, this is called craving conditioned by feeling. From experiencing, feeling pleasure, and dwelling in particular attachment, there arises the hope that oneself will not be separated from the nature of suffering and the nature of happiness, and longing without abandoning, this is called grasping conditioned by craving. Thus hoping, the karma of arising in future existence is aroused by body, speech, and mind, and this is called existence conditioned by grasping. The five aggregates that arise from that karma are called birth conditioned by existence. The growth, maturation, and destruction of the aggregates that are manifestly established from birth are called aging and death conditioned by birth. It is the same for others as well. Same.
