From... For sentient beings, darkness obscures, and things are inverted and confused. Even being unable to move a hair's tip, they don't understand it's their own doing, yet they still cling to the mind. Thus it is said. Those who secretly proclaim the limits of the Vedas also believe that what exists in the continuum of all living beings is unique, all-pervading, and constant wisdom. It is through its transformations that all things like water, fire, and wind appear as movement. Its very nature is the self, not something external. Things with parts and minute particles cannot be grasped in the slightest. This transformation of constancy and wisdom, earth, fire, water, etc., is me, is its self, as others correctly proclaim. If one desires to have the characteristic of being graspable, then there is not even a little. This is a complete transformation of consciousness, therefore one can truly see everything. Thus it is said. Furthermore, those internal heretics who speak of a person (pudgala) believe in a self of a person that is neither the same as nor different from the aggregates. Otherwise, it would become a view clinging to heretical tenets. Here it is also said: Some Sugatas also proclaim that there is another self. Thus it is said. Therefore, how can the self become an object of the apprehension of "I"? Since its own nature does not appear to it, how can the self appear as an object of the apprehension of "I"? Therefore, this is merely an appearance of conceptualization, arising without an object. Thus it abides. This is what the Samkhyas and others, who speak of the self as the nature of the mind, say because they cannot tolerate the refutation of the self in the six consciousnesses. The consciousness of sound and so on, the mind speaks of as its own self, I speak of as if with an axe. So how can this desire refute it? If so, the tenet spoken by taking the thoughts of others will become a fault. Therefore, if one says the knowledge of sound and so on. If the knowledge of sound is the self, since it is permanent, the knowledge of sound will also become permanent. At that time, even when sound exists or does not exist, it will always be apprehended, because the nature of apprehending sound always functions whether it exists or does not exist.

It is for this reason. Otherwise, that very permanence would be lost. If it changes like this, then, (in the scriptures) it is said "if there is no knowable" etc., the knowable itself exists as the self. Sound is sometimes present and sometimes absent, therefore, it is not excluded by manifesting in all ways. Therefore, when it does not exist, there is no knowable, that is, when there is no object, what will that knowledge cognize, and what will it know? The word "what" is used when it does not exist, indicating the difference of questioning. If it is empty of the knowable, how can it be called knowledge? It will manifest. The knowable is cognized by knowledge, and then it is called knowledge, if there is no knowable, how can it be knowledge? He thinks like this. Similarly, (in the scriptures) it is said "if ignorant" etc., if one does not know the object, even so, if it is said to be knowledge, then, at that time, the tree of ignorant nature will also become knowledge. Because of what does it become ignorant, there is no fault committed at all. Therefore, for example, there is no complete cognition of the object, and it will not become knowledge, similarly, will others not change? (In the scriptures) it is said "therefore" etc., because of what reason did it not become knowledge without an object? The knowable does not exist, that is, it is not close, it does not dwell in the permissible object, the knowable is the object to be taken, for whom is that, it is called that, that is, there is no knowledge, it does not exist. Certainty is because it completely depends on this. That change is also because sound is not permanent, so the knowledge of sound is not not close to the object, because it does not cling to a hundred, because manifestation is sometimes present and sometimes absent, so is there no fault in saying that there will be a fallacy? This is not existent, because of what reason, the nature of knowledge that is completely cut off by what is manifestation, it is said like this, there, because the object is not always close, so what clings is not knowledge, it should be said like this. Sound does not want to be said to be always existent and non-existent, knowledge does not cling to a hundred, just by this, what needs to be proven can be established. Therefore, the knowable is not close, with this it proves that knowledge is not clinging. Because of what nature, the object to be taken by knowledge is not always close, therefore a fallacy will arise.
