From the Sutra of the Arrangement of Flowers: Lion Exertion, some towards the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, who possesses immeasurable qualities, therefore the ripening of offerings to him should also be immeasurable. Lion Exertion, whether the Tathagata remains or has completely passed into nirvana, all those who make offerings are like this: they will completely pass into nirvana through one of the three vehicles. Lion Exertion, some who see the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, and generate faith, with a joyful mind, use their gains, clothing, food, bedding, medicine, utensils, and all things conducive to comfort, treating him with utmost care and respect, making offerings, remembering, and serving him respectfully; and those who make offerings to the relics of the Tathagata who has completely passed into nirvana, even to a stupa the size of a mustard seed, know that these results are the same, there is no difference or distinction in the offerings to the Tathagata. Thus it is said: Offering to the one who remains, to the one who does not remain and has passed into nirvana, with equal faith, there is no difference in merit. Again, it is said: Whether Lion Exertion serves the Tathagata for a hundred years or a thousand years, with all things conducive to comfort, and those who, towards the stupa of the Tathagata who has completely passed into nirvana, with the mind of enlightenment truly embraced, offer a few flowers, or sprinkle a handful of water, or apply a dot of perfume, or sweep away fallen petals, or offer incense, or offer a lamp, and after offering, with a joyful mind, abandon a few steps away, merely saying, "I prostrate to the Buddha Bhagavan," Lion Exertion, for a kalpa, or a hundred kalpas, or a thousand kalpas, or a hundred thousand kalpas, there is no place for falling into evil destinies. Do not doubt, hesitate, or be uncertain about this. It should be accepted with certainty. For example, the truthful, and so on.

It is said that offering is made to the true Buddha, that is, to the truly existing Bhagavan. "With fruit" means with merit, but how? Just like that, it is used to show the metaphor. Here, the metaphor is not from outside the scriptures. Therefore, the fruits of offering to the Bhagavan should be understood from the scriptures in every way. What is said such as "From the habituation of emptiness" is that the Vaibhashikas and others cannot bear to abandon all obscurations with the emptiness of all dharmas, so they think that seeing and meditating on the four noble truths is the method for that, so they said "By seeing the truth" and so on. These four noble truths are the nature of suffering, origin, cessation, and path. Seeing is the object, meaning manifest. Knowing by seeing is a metaphor, and knowing by meditating should also be observed. As it is said: From seeing and meditating on the truth, It is said that afflictions are abandoned. If it is said like this, then the person who enters into it, having hearing and thinking, enters into meditation, mindfulness of impurity and exhalation and inhalation, and the practice of mindfulness close abiding, with the order of accomplishment, with these sixteen aspects of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness, sees the truth of suffering and so on. From the perspective of warming up and so on, corresponding to the part of ascertainment, the nature of fifteen moments such as suffering dharma knowledge forbearance is the path of seeing. After that, by obtaining the path of meditation, the afflictions of the three realms to be abandoned by seeing and meditation and the aggregates of close grasping are abandoned, and arise with the knowledge of exhaustion and non-arising. Thus, it is a brief summary of the order of realization of the noble truths. This says that liberation is from seeing the noble truths. Therefore, this liberation alone is sufficient, what is the use of seeing emptiness? Seeing emptiness, that is, realizing and manifesting that all dharmas are without self-nature. That's all for now.

If someone asks, is there no other way to liberation? Because there are other ways to liberation. Then, why is it said here, "From the scriptures," and so on? This is to explain that there is no other way. This itself is the truth of the meaning. Just like this, all things can be considered as real, or they can be considered as unreal, thus becoming two natures. Among them, the nature of attachment produced by ignorance is not common to all beings. By clinging to this, afflictions cannot be eliminated. Otherwise, all childish beings would become Tathagatas, which would become the fault mentioned earlier. Therefore, the unattached Suchness is realized through the yoga of non-objectification, thereby obtaining the ability to eliminate ignorance and defilements. That is to say, when discriminating with wisdom, because of realizing the self-nature of non-objectification of all dharmas, it should be recognized that only the emptiness of all dharmas has the ability to eliminate all illusory obscurations. In this way, the previous reasoning will later be put into practice. Furthermore, in order to understand this meaning through the scriptures themselves, it is said in the scriptures, "Because from the scriptures, without this path, there is no Bodhi." That is, from the Prajnaparamita, the Blessed One said, "Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices Prajnaparamita, he should not contemplate form as real. He should not contemplate feeling as real. He should not contemplate perception as real. He should not contemplate formation as real. He should not contemplate consciousness as real." And so on, "He should not contemplate the knowledge of the aspect of the path as real. He should not contemplate the knowledge of all aspects as real. He should not contemplate the abandonment of afflictions that connect habitual tendencies as real." Why is that? Subhuti, for those who have a concept of reality, there is no practice of Prajnaparamita. For those who have a concept of reality, there is no practice of Dana Paramita. For those who have a concept of reality, there is no practice of inner emptiness.
