I am an example of desire. It is said that both yogis and ordinary people desire and manifest the example of desire, which is closely associated with it. In this Sutra, the Blessed One spoke of examples such as illusion, mirage, the city of the Gandharvas, and reflections. Both of these are established as having no inherent nature, and because they share the same Dharma, it is to show that all Dharmas are without inherent nature. Thus, for a while, forms and so on, which are understood by all beings, are understood by those yogis themselves as being without inherent nature, because they realize the ultimate truth. Furthermore, those who focus on these as illusions and so on can also be established for ordinary people. Therefore, since there is no reversed realization for both, the qualities of the examples are not diminished. Moreover, those who contemplate and so on, who believe that the nature of things is in a different place and time, appear as such. Since they are refuted elsewhere, their claims are not refuted here. Some of our own schools also believe that the substance of the mind exists and appears as such in dreams and so on. They will also be refuted in the following text when self-awareness is refuted, as appropriate. What is established by reason is also established for both. Therefore, by that example, the consciousness of ordinary people who hold on to the reversed nature of things is established as delusion. Likewise, the consciousness of yogis should also be understood reasonably. If all things are without inherent nature, which is the true nature of things, then all sentient beings with the thought of taming

There is no contradiction regarding the result. It is said like this: if illusions and so on have no self-nature, and generosity and so on also have no self-nature, even so, when the three circles are completely purified and the practice of reverence and so on is fully mastered, in order to realize the ultimate truth, transforming in that way also becomes the essence of the cause. Because that is the means of those, and dependent origination is also inconceivable. In this way, it is realized as the result, and it should be said that it arises from that means. It is said like that: what becomes the means is the conventional truth, and what arises from the means is the ultimate truth. It is said so. This must be so, otherwise, in the state of being defiled, if there is no path and so on, how can one abide in the undefiled from the state of being defiled, and how can the non-conceptual arise from the state of being conceptual? Because that is the self-nature of the ultimate truth. This is also the same in other respects, because all dharmas have no self-nature in the ultimate truth. The cause itself and all its self-nature are considered as the result. Therefore, from the conventional non-self-nature, the realization of non-self-nature itself is the result. Just as how can one attain other unconditioned nirvana from the conditioned path? Likewise, if things like generosity and so on have no self-nature, in order to realize the suchness of the ultimate truth, Bodhisattvas embrace sentient beings with compassion. Otherwise, the ultimate truth is free from conceptualization. Therefore, there is no prohibition against engaging in generosity and so on. Therefore, wanting to obtain and abandon desirable and undesirable results, one should engage in and refrain from good and non-good. This will also be clearly explained later. If that is the case, if the self-nature of things similar to illusions and so on, which is realized by yogis, is realized by ordinary people, how can there be further inverted realization? It is said "world" and so on, worldly people are ordinary people, relying on cause and condition, things obtain self-nature.

So it is said. In this way, the sound of things, by the nature of existence, can realize the statement that things do not exist. It is not just seeing, but also realizing the truth. Just as realizing the self-nature itself, one will be attached to the ultimate truth. What does this mean? It refers to the nature of what has become the object of my realization, because of the attachment to "that is the thing itself", so it is not like illusion. Also, like a yogi like illusion, seeing the ultimate nature like illusion, it is not realized like that. Therefore, here, it refers to the conduct towards this, that is, the inverted realization. Yogis and worldly people practice, meaning yogis and worldly people together. Because worldly people have not realized the suchness of things realized through it, the yogi, in order to dispel the question of "how" that worldly people will raise when they thoroughly realize it together. The idea is this: all things have the nature of conventional truth and ultimate truth. Among them, the conventional truth is realized by worldly people, and the ultimate truth is realized by yogis. For example, the images of elephants and so on transformed by illusionists are seen by those whose eyes are deceived by the power of mantras and so on. But the illusionist can see its original image of self-nature and so on. Similarly, yogis and worldly people are also like this, how should they be realized rationally? Even so, for the nature of things commonly seen by all beings through direct perception, it has a function, and how can it be denied? After welcoming the doubts in the minds of others in this way, he said "form, etc., direct perception", etc. It means that no matter what form, etc., appears. The sound of etc. refers to sound, etc., and feeling, etc. This is also universally recognized, it is universally recognized by worldly people, but not through valid cognition, because the direct perception of form, etc., realized through valid cognition does not exist.
