Supreme Master! If you do not know the secret of this mind, although you want to attain happiness and destroy suffering, they are just wandering aimlessly in vain. Therefore, this mind of mine should be well held and well protected. Apart from the asceticism of protecting the mind, what is the use of many ascetic practices? If you are in the midst of hot gravel, you should be as careful as protecting a wound. Even if you are in a bad environment, you should always protect the wound of your heart. If fear arises from the pain of the wound, and fear can also protect the wound, then why not protect the wound of the heart from the fear that can destroy the accumulation and destroy the category? If you live with such conduct, whether you live among bad people, or live among women, you can still maintain your vows and be steadfast. My gains and respect, body and livelihood can be abandoned, and other good roots can also be abandoned, but the mind should never be abandoned. For those who want to protect the mind, mindfulness and awareness should be protected with all efforts. I hereby implore you with folded hands. People who are troubled by diseases have no power in all activities. Similarly, a mind troubled by ignorance has no power in all activities. Those who have a mind without awareness, their hearing, thinking and meditation are like a leaking bottle, and they do not remain in memory. Although they are knowledgeable and have faith, and are also brave and diligent, they will be stained by the defilement of falling due to the fault of not having awareness. The thieves without awareness, following the decline of memory, even if they accumulate many merits, they will fall into evil destinies like being stolen. This group of disturbing thieves is always looking for opportunities. Once they find an opportunity, they will take away the good roots and destroy the life of the happy destiny. Therefore, mindfulness should not be let go from the gate of the mind, not even for a moment. Even if it has been let go, one should remember the suffering of evil destinies and keep it close. By being close to the Guru, being firm by relying on the Acharya, and making the fortunate ones respectful with fear, mindfulness can easily arise. All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have unobstructed vision. In front of all of them, I always abide. Thinking like this, I have shame, respect and fear, these four.

Nara. Therefore, remembering the Buddha, Also happens to this again and again. When mindfulness from the mind door, Turns into the meaning of guarding, At that time, mindfulness will come, What has passed will also come. Wait a moment, first know these minds, This is after knowing it has faults, At that time, I should be like a tree, Abiding in being able to endure. Looking around aimlessly, I should never do it, Must always with mindfulness, Lower the eyelids and look. In order to rest the viewing, Occasionally look towards all directions. If something appears in sight, Then say it is good to come after watching. In order to observe the fear of roads, etc., Look towards the four directions again and again. In order to rest, turn the face back, Look towards the back direction. After observing the front and back, One should walk or come, Thus at all times, Knowing what is needed and acting. The body should abide like this, After finishing the work, then, At what time this body, How it abides should be watched. The drunken elephant of the mind, On the great pillar of thinking about Dharma, How it is tied up without knowing, Thus observe with all effort. Must diligently practice meditation, Not missing even a moment, Where does my mind go, Thus observe the mind separately. Related to fear and celebration, etc., If you can't, then do as you please. Thus at the time of giving, It is said that one should abandon discipline and moderation. After thinking, Start what you want to do, You shouldn't think about other things, With the heart of giving, Accomplish this temporarily. If so, then everything is good, Otherwise, it will become a dilemma. If not mindfulness, near afflictions, If so, it will not increase. Jesting words and various, Rare and numerous performances, If indulging in everything, One should abandon attachment to this. If doing meaningless digging, cutting grass, And drawing on the ground, etc., After remembering the teachings of the Sugata, Abandon it immediately out of fear. When you want to move, Or when you want to speak, First observe your own mind, With steadiness and awareness. When your own mind is attached, And when you want to be angry,

Furthermore, one should not act, should not speak, but should remain like a log. If there is laughter or mixed with coarse language, or if arrogance and pride arise, or if there is a thought of exposing others' flaws, or if there is a mind of deception and enticement, or whenever one delights in self-praise, as well as scolding others, accompanied by rebuke and regret, at that time one should remain like a log. If one desires gain, respect, and fame, or if one desires to strive for servants and retinue, or if one desires the service of one's own mind, at that time one should remain like a log. Abandoning the benefit of others, desiring to seek one's own benefit, if a mind of wanting to speak arises, therefore one should remain like a log. Impatience, laziness, fear, likewise dullness and agitation, and if a biased mind towards one's own side arises, at that time one should remain like a log. Thus, at all times, observing afflictions and meaningless exertion, at that time the brave one should firmly grasp the antidote. With extreme certainty and great faith, steady and with respectful body and speech, possessing shame and fear, peaceful and diligent in making others happy. Not weary of the desires of children who disagree with each other, and lovingly thinking: these afflictions have arisen, this mind has arisen. On faultless objects, mastering oneself and sentient beings, like an illusion without self, one should constantly hold this mind. Having obtained the excellence of leisure and endowment for a long time, thinking again and again, one should hold this mind as immovable as Mount Meru. Vultures are attached to flesh and blood, dragging each other, if your mind does not please them, why do you advise now? This body is held as mine, why does your mind protect it? You and these two are separate, what can they do to you? Foolish mind, why do you not take a clean wooden object? This wheel of impure collection, what is the use of guarding decay? First, separate this layer of skin with your own wisdom. Also, separate the flesh from the network of bones with the sword of wisdom. Also, dissect the bones one by one, and look between the soles of the feet, what essence is there in this? You should examine yourself. Thus, striving to search, you also abandon, you.
