Because there are no characteristics other than the absence of inherent existence. In order to explain the unborn equality with the reasoning stated by Nagarjuna in the Root Wisdom. Therefore, it is said "not from oneself" and so on. In order to explain it with its commentary. Therefore, it is said "ever" and so on. The meaning of "ever" is the meaning of "anytime." The meaning of "ever" and "anytime" are the same. The so-called "word of dependence" means from the word that shows dependence. In order to clearly show that dependence. Therefore, it is said place, time, and tenets. Therefore, the meaning here is: some place, such as the east, etc. Some time, such as past, present, and future. Some tenets, such as Buddhism, logicians, and Vaisheshika, etc. If someone asks: Since both the words "wherever" and "sometime" express time, will it become a repetition? No. "Wherever" is a general expression of time such as the past, while "ever" is an expression of the difference of time, so there is no fault. The so-called "with the word of dependence" means to express the object of dependence. The so-called "saying inner and outer things" refers to the eye, ear, nose, tongue, and body faculties with their supports, and from eye consciousness to mind consciousness, these are internal things. Other than that, forms, sounds, smells, tastes, tactile objects, and dharmas are external things. The so-called "here" refers to this verse. The so-called "proof of existence" refers to the self-arising that proves the existence of things. The verses that contradict it should be combined. Therefore, it is said "not born from oneself." Otherwise, it would be explained that there is no self-arising. Negating existence is an indirect affirmation. Therefore, it is said "being and non-being." The so-called "negating it" means negating existence. It means

The action is due to the force of the occasion. Similarly, all three vows should be applied in the same way. That is to say, the word "not" should also be added to things that arise from others, arise from two, and arise from no cause. The four vows are done by saying "not from oneself" and so on, these are the four vows. "Having recounted" means that the four vows spoken of in the Root Wisdom of the Middle Way, when entering the Middle Way here, two verses are recounted. So. "For the sake of proving with reason" means that this is for the sake of saying that this meaning is reasonable with reason. In order to show the recounting of the four vows, it is said, "That itself does not arise from that itself." "That itself does not arise from that itself" is the first recounting. "How can one look at others?" is the second. "Not even from both" is the third. "How can there be no cause?" is the fourth. In order to show it with explanation, it is said, "Not from oneself" and so on. Similarly, the rest should also be applied in the same way as before. Again, if one asks, how is this certain? It means, by what reason are these four vows certain? To this, first, in order to show the reason for refuting self-arising, it is said, "Thus" and so on. "From that" is from the nature of the result. "That" is the nature of the result itself. "There is not even a small amount of merit" is because no additional merit arises. Therefore, self-arising is impossible. The meaning of this is that when oneself arises from oneself, at that time, since there is no difference in the nature of the cause, the nature of the result will arise or arise with difference. According to the first aspect, since the nature already exists, it is not reasonable that it does not arise. If it is according to the second, that is also unreasonable, because it will arise with difference from no difference. Since there was no difference before, it is unreasonable to arise from oneself. Therefore, if merit arises, it will become self-arising, because there is no merit, it is

This means "birth is not existence." In order to explain it through interpretation, it is said "that is" and so on. The explanation of "being born" is "the agent of the act of birth." Here, whatever is being born is the agent of the act of birth, just as a walker is the agent of walking. The seed is what causes the agent to enter, just as Lha-sbyin causes others to enter the act of walking. Therefore, the sprout itself is the agent of the act of birth. "From the very nature of that which is being born" means "from the sprout." Thus, it is shown that "this side of arising from oneself is not existence." Now, in order to show that even if it exists, it is contrary to reason, it is said "this side of arising from oneself" and so on. "From the point of view of reason" means "because it contradicts direct perception." "Already born" also shows consequence; if one thinks that what is already born is born again, then sprouts and so on will not be born, because from the worldly point of view, sprouts and so on are seen to be born. Therefore, there is no arising from oneself. The meaning here is that with regard to "arising from oneself," seeds arise from seeds, but not sprouts and so on. If one admits that sprouts and so on arise, then because the nature of seeds and sprouts is different, it will become an admission of arising from another. Therefore, fearing to admit the side of arising from another, if one admits that only seeds arise from seeds, then sprouts and so on will not arise. Here, the characteristic of consequence is that it shows what others do not want from the point of view of what others have admitted. For example, if one admits an object with the characteristic of arising from oneself from the self of another, then sprouts and so on will not arise, just like stating what is not desired. Some say that if one considers consequence as a reason, is it established by valid cognition or not? If it is the first case, then since it is established for both, why say "admitted by others"?
