It is focused on the vast wisdom, because it possesses infinite virtues. The so-called "completely purified" and so on, is to speak of the result, that is, the complete purification of the bodhisattva grounds, is the elimination of the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing and to be abandoned by meditation, and the complete purification of the pāramitās refers to the transcendent that is encompassed by the three aspects of no object of reference. The so-called "vast conduct" means benefiting beings with the nirmāṇakāya and the saṃbhogakāya as long as samsara exists. The so-called "as appropriate" means the means for each being to attain higher rebirth, and also the means for others to definitely achieve goodness. In order to show that the discipline of this ground is immaculate, it is said "like the ocean" and so on. The so-called "discipline mastery" means abiding in discipline. The so-called "great self" means constantly and continuously abiding in discipline. The so-called "that" refers to discipline. The rest is easy to understand. In order to show the conclusion of discipline, it is said "as it is said" and so on. The so-called "all perfections of qualities" refers to samādhi and so on. The so-called "is the cause of the perfection of the four continents" means that the bodhisattva who abides in this ground will become a universal monarch who rules the four continents, possesses the seven precious things, and has the power to eliminate the defilement of immoral discipline of sentient beings. Commentary on Chapter Two of Engaging in the Middle Way ends. Now, in order to show the third generation of mind, it is said "now" and so on. The so-called "knowable" refers to form, mind, mental factors, non-associated formations, and unconditioned phenomena. These are the firewood, just as fire burns firewood and makes it disappear, the fire of the wisdom of emptiness makes form and so on disappear. The so-called "for the sake of generating light" refers to the first and second grounds.

Therefore, it is to slightly reveal the fire of wisdom. The so-called "one with the nature of peace" refers to the nature of all discriminating thoughts being peaceful. As it is said: Virtuous and non-virtuous discriminating thoughts, the characteristic of cutting off causes and conditions, the Buddhas proclaim emptiness. Therefore. There, it refers to the third ground. The so-called "disturbance of non-place" means that it should be said that this Bodhisattva will not be angered by others. The so-called "because of having such wisdom" means to know the complete purity of the three spheres. The so-called "with the non-meaning doubt of the three times, it becomes the basis of others' torment," among which "the non-meaning doubt of the three times" means that I have been harmed by this person, my friend has also been harmed, and my enemy has been benefited, thinking that such non-meaning doubts of the past arise. Similarly, the present and future should also be said in this way. Such and so on are easy to understand. This shows that Bodhisattvas are not the object of anger. The so-called "the sinful action, the cause of that" means that the sinful action arising from anger in the wrong place has the cause of suffering such as hell. This shows the cause of conventional patience. In order to show the cause of ultimate patience, it is said "in addition" and so on. The so-called "who" refers to hands and so on. "By whom" refers to the person who cuts. "When" refers to any time. "How to cut" refers to the action of knives and so on. "Why" and so on, refers to showing the reason for seeing no-self. The so-called "sinful action" and so on, refers to showing the meaning of "also." After showing the two causes of patience in this way, in order to show that it is also the cause of protecting the accumulation of merits for each ordinary person, it is said "this patience" and so on. It is explained that one should return from speaking of others' faults with anger, and the word "etc." should include slaps and fists, etc. If the other party harms first, and returns only because of this, then he

So, regarding the question of "what should be done to them," the phrase "harming back" means retaliating against the enemy. The phrase "if only it can stop" means, if only retaliation can stop (the enemy's aggression). The phrase "what does resentment do to it" means, what can retaliation do about the harm that the enemy has already caused? It can't do anything, because the harm that has already been done cannot be undone. The word "this" refers to this life. The word "that" refers to retaliation. The meaning here is that by revealing the meaninglessness of retaliation and its unpleasant consequences, it shows that retaliation should be abandoned and patience should be cultivated. Moreover, patience is also the cause of increasing the merits arising from generosity and discipline, and therefore it is also the cause of protecting all virtues. This shows that retaliation should not be carried out. Now, if retaliation is retaliated against again, then, in order to show its error by revealing the increase of unpleasant consequences, it is said, "whoever themselves," etc. The phrase "personally experiencing the difference of the fruit of evil deeds" refers to the harm caused by the enemy, which is not done by the enemy, but rather the fruit of evil deeds done in past lives is being experienced. Regarding the sentence "peace is achieved by harming back," peace refers to calming anger by retaliating. The phrase "they desire to win by harming" refers to wanting to gain victory through harming. The phrase "what fruit" refers to the suffering caused by the enemy through beatings, etc. The phrase "causing to be exhausted" refers to the fruit being exhausted by being experienced. The phrase "that is known" refers to the fruit of the karma previously created. The phrase "harming others and anger" refers to the harmer harming others and retaliating. The phrase "is the seed itself" refers to what will become the cause of falling into hell in the future.
