It is the meaning of being called abiding. Therefore, it is said, "Completely eliminating all thick darkness," because afflictions are obstacles to realizing the true nature, so they are of the nature of darkness. In order to show it by commentary, it is said, "The word 'thus'" and so on. In order to show the aspect as it is said, it is called, "The Bodhisattva always holds joy." The aspect as it is said is like this. The rest is easy to understand. The explanation of the first chapter of the Commentary on Entering the Middle Way is completed. In order to show the commentary on the second chapter, it is said, "Bodhisattva" and so on. "He" refers to the Bodhisattva. "Endowed with perfect virtues of morality," will be explained by the commentary. In "Even in dreams," the word "even" indicates that there is no need to mention the waking state. It is called "Morality free from defilement," the morality sought is the path of the ten non-virtuous actions, which is defilement because it makes the body and so on impure. Abandoning it means being separated from it. In order to show how the distinctions of the second generation of mind and so on are, it is said, "Ground" and so on. "All differences of knowledge are because of the oneness of nature," because there is no difference in the nature of non-duality. If there is no such thing as the virtue that does not arise, from the excellence of the perfection of morality, it is the distinction of the second generation of mind and so on, not from the aspect of essence. On this, the characteristics and detailed classification of morality have already been explained in the टीका. Now, in order to show the etymology of morality, it is said, "He" and so on. "Because of not accepting afflictions," that is, because of not accepting the mind of afflictions that has become the cause of non-virtue. "Sin does not"

The reason for saying "because of arising" is that there is no result without a cause. The so-called "unpeaceful mind with displeasure" refers to actions such as killing, thus causing displeasure. Without these, it is the cool discipline itself. In order to show the second meaning, it is said "cause of happiness" and so on. The cause of happiness is the cause of good rebirth. Or, the body with discipline will become light and comfortable, and a light and comfortable body will feel happiness, so it is said that discipline is the cause of happiness. Therefore, because it is the cause of happiness, it is what the noble ones should rely on, and that is discipline. In order to show the classification of discipline with the nature of vows, it is said "having the characteristics of seven abandonments." These seven abandonments are: abandoning killing, taking what is not given, sexual misconduct, lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, and idle chatter. Among them, killing other sentient beings is killing, having five branches: being a sentient being, recognizing as a sentient being, wanting to kill, starting to act, and actually killing. Having five branches. Among them, if the object one wants to kill is killed, then it is killing, otherwise it is not. Moreover, through that action, immediately or later dying, then it is considered killing. Abandoning these is abandoning killing. Taking what is not given refers to the owner of the property being someone else, taking the property by force or not by force, in a stealing manner, is taking what is not given, having five branches: belonging to others, recognizing as belonging to others, wanting to take, starting to act, and actually taking. If the property one wants to take is taken, then it is taking what is not given, and abandoning these is refraining from taking what is not given. Sexual misconduct refers to going to a place that should not be gone, non-limb, non-place, non-time, is sexual misconduct, having: a place that should not be gone, recognizing as a place that should not be gone, wanting to go, starting to act, and actually acting.

Five limbs. Among them, one's own wife and prostitutes are to be engaged with, and for that purpose, they are to be fully accepted. Other than that, it is not to be engaged with. This is also of three types: that which is not to be engaged with by nature, that which is not to be engaged with because it is possessed by another, and merely that which is not to be engaged with. Among these, that which is not to be engaged with by nature is a mother, sister, daughter, or anyone related to father and mother, because they should be completely abandoned due to shame. Also, ordained women, because they have completely transcended worldly customs. Others are those who are possessed by others and are not to be engaged with. That is, those who are directly bought, possessed, or prostitutes who are given wealth by others. Those who belong to the animal realm and those who protect their lineage are merely not to be engaged with because they are naturally inferior and are not objects of conduct. If one engages with what is not to be engaged with, then that is sexual misconduct motivated by desire. Going to a non-limb means that the limb for sexual intercourse is the female organ, and the non-limbs are the mouth and anus, and engaging in them. Going to a non-place means that even if it is one's own wife, if one engages in a non-place, such as a stupa, temple, or in a public place, it is sexual misconduct motivated by desire, going to a non-place. Non-time is an inappropriate time to engage in sexual activity, such as when one is heavily pregnant, not long after giving birth, or during a period of abstinence, even if one goes to one's own wife, it is sexual misconduct motivated by desire, going to a non-time. Unwillingness, suffering, unpleasantness, and menstruation are merely non-time. Thus, from the four types of sexual misconduct motivated by desire, one abandons sexual misconduct motivated by non-desire, which is the opposite. These three are the paths of bodily action. Lying means that through body and speech, with another mode of perception, one expresses what one intends to say. The object is other, the perception is other, the intention to express is other, and approaching
