When praising them, if they are dwelling near the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas Vehicle, then upon hearing the praise of the Bodhisattvas, they will definitely generate the thought: "Only the Bodhisattva Vehicle is ultimately true, the others are provisional." Otherwise, how would the Tathagatas praise the Bodhisattvas? Therefore, it is for the sake of generating the thought that I too shall enter the ultimately true Vehicle. That is its meaning. Thus, after demonstrating that Buddhas arise from Bodhisattvas through reasoning, now, in order to demonstrate that Buddhas arise from Bodhisattvas through scriptural authority, and in order to show in which Sutra the praise of the Buddhas' Bodhisattvas is expressed, the phrase "As it is said" and so on is mentioned, which is easy to understand. In order to show the conclusion, the phrase "Therefore, in that way" and so on is mentioned, which is easy to understand. In order to show the question of what is the cause of a Bodhisattva, the phrase "Again" and so on is mentioned, which is easy to understand. The answer to that is the phrase "Compassion" and so on is mentioned. The Victorious One who has overcome sinful dharmas is the Buddha, the Bhagavan. Because he possesses the essence of the seeds of hearing that are in harmony with the utterly pure realm of Dharma, the son of the Victorious One is the Bodhisattva. The mind of those Bodhisattvas endowed with compassion, the non-dual wisdom that is the nature of generating the mind of ultimate Bodhi, and the mind of Bodhi that arises from conventional terms, are the cause. In order to show that through explanation, the phrase "Regarding that" and so on is mentioned. The aspects that will be explained regarding that are the three distinctions of focusing on sentient beings, focusing on dharmas, and non-focusing, because the nature is shown through the gateway of the object of focus. Among these, it will first be shown by "As me" and so on. "Things and" and so on, are things and non-things, existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation, and so on, being free from the two extremes is non-dual wisdom. The mind of Bodhi that arises from conventional terms.
