Fourth (principle). Just as there are four kinds of forbearance and four kinds of wisdom in understanding the truth of suffering in the three realms, similarly, regarding the origin that is practiced in the desire realm, the cause of the seven latent predispositions to be abandoned by the path of seeing, as well as the aspects of accumulation, arising, and condition, with the truth of origin practiced in the desire realm as the object, possessing the characteristic of the path of immediate cessation, the moment of the Dharma-wisdom forbearance of the arising of origin is the first. Regarding this, the antidote to the view that all phenomena are without cause is the aspect of the antidote to cause. The antidote to the view that Ishvara and others are the sole cause is the aspect of accumulation. The antidote to the view of complete transformation is the aspect of arising, because arising is the emergence of something that did not exist before, and not complete transformation. The antidote to the view of mind preceding is the aspect of condition, because it is not mind preceding, therefore it is called condition. Similarly, with the object and aspect being the same, possessing the characteristic of the path of liberation, the moment of the Dharma-wisdom of origin is the second. Similarly, in the form and formless realms, with the truth of origin as the object, it is the antidote to the twelve latent predispositions other than anger just mentioned. Possessing that aspect, possessing the characteristic of the path of immediate cessation, the moment of the subsequent-wisdom forbearance of the arising of origin is the third. With the object and aspect being the same, the moment of the subsequent-wisdom of origin is the fourth. Similarly, regarding the suffering practiced in the desire realm, with the antidote to the seven latent predispositions to be abandoned by the path of seeing of cessation, with the cessation of suffering practiced in the desire realm as the object, possessing the aspects of cessation, peace, excellence, and liberation, possessing the characteristic of the path of immediate cessation, the moment of the Dharma-wisdom forbearance of cessation is the first. The antidote to the view that there is no liberation in the cause of birth is the aspect of cessation. Because there is no enjoyment of objects, the senses decay, and liberation is suffering.

The antidote for those who hold the view of "it is terrifying" is the aspect of tranquility. The antidote for those who hold the view of "the bliss of meditation is the only wealth" is wealth. The antidote for those who hold the view of "because of repeated degeneration, liberation is not a reliance" is the aspect of definite renunciation. The second moment is the moment of the Dharma-knowledge of the cessation of suffering, which has the characteristics of the path of liberation with an object and that very aspect. With that very aspect, for the cessation of suffering practiced in the form and formless realms, the antidote to the twelve subtle defilements except for anger with an object, the moment of the subsequent knowledge-patience of the cessation of suffering practiced in the form and formless realms, which has the characteristics of the uninterrupted path, is the third. The fourth moment is the moment of subsequent knowledge of the cessation of suffering practiced in the formless realm, which has the characteristics of the path of liberation with an object and that very aspect. Similarly, for the path that goes to the cessation of suffering practiced in the desire realm, the antidote to the eight subtle defilements to be abandoned by seeing the path, with the aspects of path, reason, practice, and definite renunciation, with the path that goes to the cessation of suffering practiced in the desire realm as the object, the moment of the Dharma-knowledge-patience of the path, which has the characteristics of the uninterrupted path, is the first. The antidote for those who hold the view of "there is no path" is the cultivation of the path. The antidote for those who hold the view of "the path is bad" is the aspect of reason. The antidote for those who hold the view of "there is another path" is the aspect of practice, because that is definite. The antidote for those who hold the view of "the path also degenerates" is the aspect of definite renunciation. The second moment is the moment of the Dharma-knowledge of the path, which has the characteristics of the path of liberation with an object and that very aspect. With that very aspect, with the path that goes to the cessation of suffering practiced in the form and formless realms as the object, the moment of the subsequent knowledge-patience of the path, which has the characteristics of the uninterrupted path, the antidote to the fourteen subtle defilements, is the third.
