When 'Sa' is multiplied tenfold and reaches the sixtieth position, that is called 'Innumerable.' Such countless hundreds of thousands of aspirations are initiated by the bodhisattva of the first ground, Joyful. 'Generating the first mind' refers to generating the first mind that transcends the world. 'Those are,' etc., refers to: Whatever Buddhas have gone in the three times, all the distinctions of aspirations for Bodhi conduct, practicing well, Bodhi Buddhas, all of those I will completely perfect. Like this, all these aspirations are included within the Samantabhadra's aspiration. Therefore, it is said, 'All aspirations without remainder,' etc. Now, in order to dispel the doubts of those who have entered the Hearer Vehicle, in order to show the classification of the grounds through the way taught by the Hearers, therefore it is said, 'How is it with regard to that,' etc. With regard to that, through entering the Hearer Vehicle, and the classification of the fruit abiding on the path, it is the stream-enterer who practices in order to obtain the fruit of stream-entry, etc., and the classification of the fruit of stream-entry, etc., abiding on the path. The meaning here is that in this Hearer path, there are five: desire, anger, pride, ignorance, and doubt, and also the views have the five classifications previously taught, so there are ten in total. That is, what is abandoned by seeing and what is abandoned by meditation. Among them, in the desire realm, there are ten that are abandoned by seeing the truth of suffering, and the view of the aggregates, the view of extremes, and the seven afflictions other than holding vows and asceticism as supreme, are abandoned by seeing the truth of the origin and cessation. The other eight afflictions other than the view of the aggregates and the view of extremes are abandoned by seeing the truth of the path. Thus, in the desire realm, there are thirty-two subtle distinctions that are abandoned by seeing the four truths. In the form realm, since there are no four forms of anger, there are twenty-eight subtle distinctions that are abandoned by seeing the four truths. Similarly, in the formless realm.

Again, there are twenty-eight, so the subtle defilements to be abandoned by seeing in the three realms are eighty-eight. Attachment, anger, pride, and ignorance: these four are to be abandoned by cultivation in the desire realm. Of these four, the three excluding anger are to be abandoned by cultivation in the form realm. Similarly, in the formless realm there are also three, so what is to be abandoned becomes ten. Thus, in total, the subtle defilements become ninety-eight. Having thus totaled, the antidote to what is to be abandoned is the path of seeing, which is also sixteen moments of distinction such as the Dharma-knowledge of suffering. Among these, the direct realization of the suffering of the three realms will give rise to four moments of patience and knowledge. For example, the antidote to the hundred afflictions of the desire realm, having the aspects of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness, in the desire realm, focusing on the truth of the suffering of conditioned existence, the moment of the Dharma-knowledge of suffering, which has the characteristic of an uninterrupted path, is the first. Among these, because it did not exist before and will not exist later, it is the aspect of impermanence. Because the suffering of conditioned existence is inconsistent with the noble ones, it is the aspect of suffering. Because it is separated from the person who is the nature of the inner self and the nature of the agent, it is the aspect of emptiness. Because the aggregates do not have the nature of self, it is the aspect of selflessness. It should be known that these aspects are the antidote to those who engage in permanence, pleasure, self, and the view of self. Similarly, the second moment is the Dharma-knowledge of suffering, which has the characteristic of the path of liberation with the same object and aspect. Similarly, those afflictions other than anger alone are the suffering of the form and formless realms. The antidote to the eighteen subtle defilements to be abandoned by the path of seeing, having the aspects of suffering and so on, the moment of the patience of the Dharma-knowledge of suffering, which has the characteristic of an uninterrupted path, is the third. The moment of the subsequent knowledge of suffering, which has the characteristic of the path of liberation with the same aspect and object, is
