Should be cultivated. Among them, a Bodhisattva, with faith and joy, possesses happiness, as well as suffering, and for sentient beings who desire happiness, with the intention of gathering happiness, and with the mind of loving-kindness that arises together with it, dwells pervading all sentient beings in the ten directions, this is loving-kindness focused on sentient beings. Also, by contemplating only the Dharma and focusing on it, cultivating that very loving-kindness, this is loving-kindness focused on the Dharma. Furthermore, without discriminating even the Dharma, cultivating that very loving-kindness, it should be known as loving-kindness without a focus. Just as three aspects are shown for loving-kindness, so too, compassion, joy, and equanimity should also be understood. Among them, a Bodhisattva, focusing on sentient beings who possess suffering, with the intention of freeing them from suffering, cultivates a mind that arises together with compassion in the ten directions, this is compassion. A Bodhisattva, focusing on sentient beings who possess happiness, with the intention of rejoicing in their happiness, cultivates a mind that arises together with joy in the ten directions, this is joy. Those who are neither suffering nor happy, as well as those who are suffering, and sentient beings who possess happiness, only those, in sequence, with the intention of the afflictive truths of ignorance, hatred, and desire, cultivate a mind that arises together with equanimity in the ten directions, this is equanimity. Among them, the immeasurable of a Bodhisattva that focuses on sentient beings is common with other non-Buddhists. The immeasurable that focuses on the Dharma is common with Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, but not common with other non-Buddhists. The immeasurable without a focus of a Bodhisattva, it should be known, is not common with all non-Buddhists, Hearers, and Solitary Buddhas. Among them, these four immeasurables, in the stage of faith practice, are focused on sentient beings. The seven stages beginning with the Joyful are focused on the Dharma. The Immovable and so forth are without a focus. Here, considering the immeasurable that has perfected focusing on the Dharma, and

It is shown as becoming one. It has already been shown to be united with the immeasurable. That is like a spiritual friend, because he possesses the inexhaustible immeasurable qualities of loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity, he never abandons the benefit of sentient beings at all times. The seventh mind generation is united with the perfection of aspiration, and also united with inexhaustible clairvoyance. Among them, aspiration is the nature of manifesting what is desired, so it is not singular. Here, the desire for a birth that is in accordance with virtue is called the perfection of aspiration. From where can one please the Buddhas in every birth, and always engage in generosity and so on, that is from there. The six clairvoyances are the clairvoyance of miraculous powers, the clairvoyance of the divine ear, the clairvoyance of knowing the minds of others, the clairvoyance of remembering past lives, the clairvoyance of death and birth, and the clairvoyance of the exhaustion of defilements. Among them, the clairvoyance of miraculous powers is the samadhi and wisdom that perfectly achieves various manifestations of miraculous powers based on meditation, and the mind and mental factors that are in accordance with them. The perfect achievement of various manifestations of miraculous powers is the ability to shake the earth, to transform from one to many, to appear and also disappear, to penetrate walls and also walk through mountains without obstruction, to walk in the sky, and also to emerge on the ground, to enter and exit freely like a bird, to walk on water without sinking like the great earth, to emit smoke and also ignite flames, one's own body is like a great cloud, filling the three thousand great thousand worlds, and pouring down great water that can submerge everything. One can also grasp the sun and moon with one's hand and rub them at will, and even freely rule with one's body up to the Brahma world, and bestow fearless bliss, and also radiate light.

Etcetera. That, the divine ear clairvoyance is the samadhi and wisdom that are based on meditation and that truly achieve the hearing of various sounds, as well as the mind and mental factors that are in accordance with them. The one who truly achieves the hearing of various sounds is said to be the one who, through the pure and exceedingly transcendent divine ear realm, can hear the sounds of gods, humans, hell beings, animals, and pretas. Even the sounds of mosquitoes, horseflies, worms, birds, and bees are heard as cries of suffering and misery, and one makes great effort to be separated from that suffering. The sounds of the Buddhas teaching the Dharma in various fields are also heard only from here. The clairvoyance of knowing the minds of others is the samadhi and wisdom that are based on meditation and that truly achieve entering into the conduct of the minds of other sentient beings, as well as the mind and mental factors that are in accordance with them. The one who truly achieves entering into the conduct of the mind is said to be the one who, with his own mind, truly knows the minds of those other sentient beings, those other individuals, as they are, that is, knowing that a mind with attachment is a mind with attachment, and so forth, knowing between being without attachment, having faults, being without faults, having delusion, being without delusion, and knowing that the unsurpassed mind is the unsurpassed mind, as it is. The clairvoyance of remembering previous abodes is the samadhi and wisdom that are based on meditation and that truly achieve remembering the conduct of previous lives, as well as the mind and mental factors that are in accordance with it. The one who truly achieves remembering the conduct of previous lives is said to be the one who can remember one life, two lives, three lives, and even remember hundreds of thousands of millions of lives. Likewise, one can also remember one day, two days, three days, and even hundreds of thousands of millions of kalpas.
