Actions are conditions, which means that the streams of actions with the nature of good and non-good, etc., experience happiness and suffering, and due to the power of ignorance, afflictions arise. Actions are the cause, as mentioned before. View is the cause, which refers to clinging to self and what belongs to self. Craving is a fault, which means that from clinging to self and what belongs to self, desire and so on arise. Latent tendencies are the cause, which refers to having the nature of habit. Manifestation is the condition, which refers to the causes of the manifestation of afflictions. For example, if there is a cause for the manifestation of clinging to self and what belongs to self, then hatred arises towards things that are inconsistent with self and what belongs to self, which is the power of habit. Due to the power of attachment, hatred arises. Single-pointedness in calm abiding refers to making the mind single-pointed through the power of meditation. Being skilled in insight refers to fully understanding the nature of things. In this regard, proper attention is the cause, and hearing sounds from others is the condition. This also refers to cause and condition. Having wisdom refers to the wisdom of knowing cause and condition. Being secluded from desires, etc., refers to arising from the samadhi of the first dhyana, blocking it with samadhi. Entering into cessation, etc., refers to arising from the first dhyana after entering into cessation. Entering into samadhi correctly and truly refers to the order from the first dhyana to the second dhyana, etc. Not according to the order, etc., refers to from the eighth dhyana to the seventh dhyana, etc., not according to the order. Connecting, etc., refers to the way from the first dhyana to the third dhyana, from the third dhyana to the fifth dhyana, etc. Because the Blessed One said that samadhi and samapatti are all of the same nature, he taught samadhi, etc. There is no mixture in samadhi, which means that the functions of samadhi appear to be different. It is impossible to enter into samadhi through the object of focus, which refers to the Tathagata.

Because there is no attachment to samadhi. The so-called "mind does not enter from one to another" means that the Tathagata's samadhi is of one taste with all samadhis and equipoise. The so-called "it is not appropriate to dwell unequally" means that there is no mind that does not dwell equally. The so-called "the body cannot be seen either" is because it is not a category that can be understood by sravakas and others. The so-called "cannot be conquered" refers to the unfavorable aspect. The so-called "here" refers to the Tathagata's samadhi. In order to show the eighth power, now "now from the past life" and so on are declared. The so-called "power of knowing the recollection of past lives" means that the past life is the place of other lives. Recollection means manifestation. Knowing is power. The so-called "as is ignorance" and so on, the so-called "as is ignorance" means that because ignorance has no beginning, it shows that reincarnation has no beginning. The so-called "as is the place of passing" refers to the existence of the past life. If you ask whose life it is, it is said "I and other beings each", I and other beings each are the past existence. If you ask what kind of existence the other is, it is said "however many beings there are, there are that many infinite", because beings are infinite, so existence is also infinite. What else is it like? It is declared "together with the base, place and form", among which "the place where I was born before is here" refers to being with the base. "I live there" refers to being with the place. "I have such a color" refers to being with the form. The unobstructed knowledge of this is the power of knowing the recollection of past lives. In order to show it through explanation, "as is" and so on are declared. The so-called "saying is the realm" means that passing from one beginningless life to another is the realm of recollecting past lives, expressed by the words "as is ignorance". The so-called "summarizing" refers to one of the past lives of the sentient realm without limit.
