Any view that regards the five aggregates of clinging as supreme, principal, especially excellent, and pure is an action that relies on clinging to wrong views. Holding discipline and asceticism as supreme, and any view that regards discipline, asceticism, and the five aggregates of clinging to discipline and asceticism as pure, liberated, and definitively liberating is an action that relies on fruitless labor. It should be understood that discipline and asceticism are preceded by wrong views. Fruitless labor is because it does not definitively lead to liberation. Wrong view refers to denying cause, effect, or action, and any inverted discrimination of existing entities, is an action that relies on severing roots of virtue and clinging to roots of non-virtue, and is an action of engaging in non-virtue and not engaging in virtue. For example, there is no giving, no offering, no fire offering, no good conduct, no bad conduct, this is the denial of cause. The ripening of the karmic results of good conduct and bad conduct does not exist, this is the denial of effect. There is no this world, no other world, no father, no mother, no spontaneously born beings, this is the denial of action, because it is the denial of the action of going to another world, the action of coming, and the action of planting seeds, and the action of rebirth. There are no Arhats in the world, etc., this is the destruction of existing entities. Apart from that, all inverted discriminations such as thinking that Brahma etc. are creators should be understood as wrong discriminations. Severing roots of virtue arises from special wrong views, not from all wrong views. Among them, there are two types of view of the transitory collection and view of extremes: namely, reasoned and innate. That which is preceded by listening to non-Dharma etc. is reasoned. Innate

The innate view of the perishable aggregate is the craving that has the hope of becoming happy and not becoming miserable. What is the wisdom that thinks "I"? That is the innate view of the perishable aggregate. The innate view of holding to extremes is the fear of engaging in the practice of realizing what it is. Other views are those that are completely imputed. Among them, the innate view of the perishable aggregate and the view of holding to extremes are not to be abandoned by the path of seeing, because they have been accustomed to since beginningless time, so the innate view of the perishable aggregate, etc., has existed for a long time, so it can only be abandoned through the path of meditation. Among them, the desire, anger, pride, ignorance, and doubt that take the view of permanence and the view of annihilation as their objects are obstacles that hinder the path of seeing suffering, origin, cessation, and path, so through the forbearance of knowing the Dharma, one can abandon the forty afflictions of the desire realm. Through the subsequent forbearance of knowledge, anger is reduced towards these ten afflictions, so in the form realm, the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing suffering, origin, path, and cessation are nine each, so thirty-six can be abandoned. Similarly, in the formless realm, there are also thirty-six, so in the form and formless realms, seventy-two afflictions can be abandoned. Thus, a total of eighty-two afflictions can be abandoned through the path of seeing. When explaining the sixteen moments, the first aspect is how to abandon the afflictions of the desire realm, form realm, and formless realm only through the forbearance of knowing the Dharma of suffering, etc., so the forbearance of knowing the Dharma of suffering, etc., abandons ten of the desire realm, nine of the form realm, and nine of the formless realm, respectively, that is, twenty-eight, which is not the case, but eighty-two afflictions can be abandoned through the forbearance of knowing the Dharma alone. Therefore, the sixteen moments are the path of seeing. If the path of seeing is the nature of the sixteen moments, how is that reasonable? Like this, all aspects of the four truths
