The earth is understood as what is held. Subsequent knowledges and acceptances are understood as what holds. Thus it is said. It should be known that all acceptances and knowledges abide in the yoga of no characteristics. These sixteen moments of mind are the path of seeing. By this, the four truths that were not seen before are seen, which is the expression of direct realization. Here, a moment of mind is not merely referred to as the arising of what was not previously born. However, the period during which knowledge arises towards the knowable until it is completely perfected is called a moment of mind. Others consider it to be other. For example, in order to abandon afflictions, the eight sights such as suffering, which have the nature of an uninterrupted path, are called acceptance. Among them, the afflictions of the desire realm to be abandoned are completely abandoned by seeing with the acceptance of knowing the Dharma of suffering and so on. The afflictions to be abandoned by seeing in the form and formless realms are completely abandoned by the acceptance of subsequent knowledge of suffering and so on. Therefore, the eight acceptances are the nature of the path without interruption by afflictions. The eight knowledges that have the nature of the path of liberation and manifest freedom from afflictions are called knowledge of Dharma and subsequent knowledge. Among them, the knowledge of Dharma manifests the support that is free from the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing in the desire realm. Subsequent knowledge manifests the support that is free from the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing in the form and formless realms. Among the eight that act together with this, the four certain knowledges of the acceptance of knowing the Dharma are designated as knowledge of Dharma. If the four certain knowledges of the acceptance of subsequent knowledge are designated as subsequent knowledge, then, for others, only the knowledge that manifests liberation is called knowledge of Dharma, and it also contradicts the certain knowledge of the acceptance of knowing the Dharma. If it is said like that, it is not so, because this is not a time of extreme habituation, so there is no extreme clarity, so the appearance and certainty directly realize that very nature by acceptance.

Thus it is established. Immediately following forbearance, the definitive knowledge that accompanies the wisdom that directly realizes liberation from afflictions must also be acknowledged. It is unreasonable not to acknowledge the certainty of Dharma-knowledge forbearance. If certainty is not acknowledged for Dharma-knowledge forbearance, then with what knowledge is subsequent knowledge forbearance determined? How can it be called subsequent knowledge of suffering? If Dharma-knowledge forbearance is not certain, then subsequent knowledge forbearance will also not be certain. Therefore, the certainty of Dharma-knowledge forbearance is encompassed by Dharma-knowledge. If this is not accepted, does Dharma-knowledge forbearance have certainty or not? If it does, if it is not called Dharma-knowledge, what is it called? If it does not, how is the name "direct realization" applied? If it is said that it is very clear, therefore it is directly realized by forbearance and wisdom, then subsequent knowledge will also become the nature of direct realization, and not the nature of certainty. Furthermore, if extreme clarity is not accepted, then because afflictions that are the nature of conceptualization and obscurations of knowledge are absent, all that is realized now is complete, therefore it would be a fallacy of becoming a Buddha. If it is said that although there is no extreme clarity, there is certainty, and it is not called forbearance, nor is it called Dharma-knowledge, then the certainty of subsequent knowledge forbearance is also not called subsequent knowledge, therefore it would become the nature of the twelve moments of the path of seeing. Therefore, the eight kinds of definitive wisdom that directly realize liberation from afflictions and that are practiced together must also be called Dharma-knowledge and subsequent knowledge. For that very reason, the determination of subsequent knowledge forbearance stated in the Abhidharma, etc., shows that it is a close representation of the determination of Dharma-knowledge forbearance, so there is no contradiction. The key instruction here is that forms and so on are unborn from the beginning, and suffering is discriminated individually, and the nature of the characteristics of suffering is not observed, and this is called the moment of Dharma-knowledge forbearance for suffering. Only that which is unborn is also called forbearance. A ksha
