Just as one maintains equanimity towards what should be abandoned, it is not that all dharmas are maintained with equanimity. Therefore, the Tathagata is said to possess such a perfect great equanimity, because all dharmas are maintained with equanimity through the gate of emptiness. In order to explain the seventh unshared dharma of the Buddha through the sutra, "Son of the lineage" and so on are spoken, in order to explain the meaning of aspiration. "For example" and so on are spoken, so-called aspiration for virtuous dharmas is not afflictive. In order to explain this in detail through questioning, "What is it?" and so on are spoken, so-called "taming sentient beings" is to cause sentient beings to enter the teachings. "Benefiting sentient beings" is to make sentient beings accord with abandoning afflictions. "Utterly secluded" is to abandon afflictions. "Causing to attain enlightenment" refers to those who generate bodhicitta in the nature of aspiration and engagement. "Not cutting off the lineage of the Three Jewels" refers to the aspiration not to interrupt the lineage of the three precious ones. "The Tathagata does not go by aspiration" means that the Tathagata is not controlled by aspiration. "The Tathagata's aspiration is preceded by wisdom" means that aspiration arises due to the power of completely knowing all dharmas. This is also spoken in relation to those to be tamed, because the Buddha, the Bhagavan, does not rely on anything, so there is no need. In order to explain the eighth unshared dharma of the Buddha through the sutra, "Son of the lineage" and so on are spoken, so-called "diligence in not abandoning sentient beings to be tamed" refers to what is suffering? What obscures the afflictions of sentient beings? What sinks into the mire of poverty? What is led by the karma of the lower realms, thereby placing them on the path of fearlessness? And so on, possessing these characteristics. It is diligence without contempt. So-called "diligence without contempt" refers to the diligence of saying "I will speak tomorrow or the day after tomorrow," it is towards sentient beings...

Do not despise them. In order to show this in more detail, it is said, "If" and so on. The so-called "not enough" refers to the time of speaking the Dharma. The so-called "body from the lineage." The so-called "physical fatigue" refers to the time of passing away. The so-called "verbal fatigue" refers to the time of speaking the Dharma. The so-called "praise" refers to speaking of the merits of diligence. The so-called "noble liberation" refers to the liberation characterized by the abandonment of afflictions. In order to show the ninth unmixed Dharma of the Buddha from the perspective of the Sutras, it is said, "Son of the lineage" and so on. The so-called "no loss at all" means that there is no loss in any way. In order to show in more detail that the Thus-Gone One does not lose mindfulness, it is said, "What is the reason for this?" and so on. The so-called "even if you know the behavior of sentient beings as it is" means even if you know the behavior of sentient beings such as desire and so on. The so-called "for that" refers to knowing the behavior of sentient beings. The so-called "wisdom is not empty either" means that in order to know that, you will not feel wisdom either. The so-called "dividing into three parts" means that at any time, the Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas of the lineage divide sentient beings into three parts. The so-called "the faculties of sentient beings enter" means that sentient beings follow the lineage and do not lose mindfulness when entering faculties such as faith. The so-called "the thoughts of sentient beings enter" refers to the entry of thoughts of one's own and others due to the difference in lineage. The so-called "not losing mindfulness by observing the behavior of sentient beings" means that when observing the behavior of sentient beings following the thoughts of the difference in lineage, one does not lose mindfulness. The so-called "did you remember" means remembering what you have experienced before. The so-called "did you think" means after thinking. The so-called "discriminate" means that it is not teaching the Dharma after discriminating, because the Thus-Gone Ones do not have discrimination. Even if you teach the Dharma, you will not lose mindfulness. The Buddha's un-
