This is saying that this is not a response. In order to further point out another fault of the Svatantrika, it is said "Furthermore," and so on. Among them, "this" refers to the Svatantrika. The meaning of "in order to accomplish the meaning of the vow made in the treatise" is that it is for the purpose of accomplishing the meaning of no self-nature vowed in the Madhyamaka treatise. "To those who refute the proofs that are completely accepted" means that in order to establish no self-nature, if others state refutations such as non-establishment to those reasons that are completely accepted as proofs. "Speaking of answers that prevent subsequent consequences" means speaking of refutations to answers that prevent the subsequent consequences of any answer. That is, having abandoned faults such as non-establishment, by promising a reason that is established for both sides, since the other's tenet can also be established, it can prevent the subsequent consequences of that answer. Therefore, it is said, "This is only refuted by others," and so on. If the one who speaks of no self-nature promises things, then it is a refutation. The meaning here is that in the case of negating the things of cause and effect, if it is said that seeds, etc., do not produce sprouts, etc., because they are other, like a pot, when such an establishment is stated, if the naked ones think that everything is the nature of everything, therefore it is not establishing otherness, and state a fault, then in order to abandon that fault, it is necessary to establish otherness. Whatever establishes otherness, that is what prevents subsequent consequences, because if otherness is established, then things are established, because otherness depends on things. Therefore, the tenet of no self-nature that you have established will fail. Similarly, wherever, in order to establish what is to be established, if one prevents reasons and abandons faults, then there one states the faults of others. "The answer we have made is very beautiful" means that the refuter has not encountered what is to be refuted, is the refutation able to refute? And so on, answering those is very beautiful. To those who previously spoke to the Svatantrika proponents

This is criticism by emphasizing the difference. Now, in order to show that the criticisms of the Madhyamikas by those who assert the existence of things are made without understanding the Madhyamika's point of view, it is said, "Furthermore," etc. "Real accomplishment" means accomplishing the thing itself. "Actually accomplishing the self-nature" means existing in the self-nature of the thing to be accomplished. "Encounter," etc., refers to the application of reasoning, such as, is it refuted by encountering, or is it refuted by not encountering, etc. "Because that does not exist" means that the things to be accomplished and the things that can be accomplished are not established in themselves, so if they are not examined, they are only lightly acknowledged. Therefore, whatever is suitable for those who assert the existence of things to raise faults such as not encountering, it can only be raised against those who assert the non-existence of things, which will only make you feel frustrated, and the things to be refuted do not have the ability to refute. In order to explain this through commentary, it is said, "Completely pure," etc. "Seeing the fault of complete impurity" refers to the fault of refuting by encountering, etc., which is seen by those who assert the existence of things. "The completely pure side" refers to the side that does not acknowledge the thing itself. "Meaningless" means that the examination of encountering, etc., is because of the reason for acknowledging the existence of things, and that reason does not exist. In order to illustrate this, it is said, "For example," etc. For example, just as refuting whether the hairs seen by a person with cataracts are one or many does not harm those without cataracts, because they do not see those things. "Completely grasping the two" means grasping the things to be accomplished and the things that can be accomplished themselves. Thus, after showing that one's own view is without fault, in order to show that there is no reason for the statement "similar to an eye that has not encountered, therefore it is not a cause," etc., the answer given by others is also not an answer.

English

It is said, "because," and so on. "Because" means that it produces its own result without contact. "Doing one's own work" refers to seeing, guiding, and so on. "It should be known to prevent" means that if a cause produces a result without contact, then all non-contacts will produce results, just as it was said before. Here, too, if the eye sees forms without contact, then all things will be seen; if a magnet attracts iron without contact, then all iron will be attracted, so these should also be known to be prevented. Because these are also the same as what needs to be proven. Therefore, the same fallacy will occur for these as well. It is said, "The same fallacy will occur for these as well, because it is the same." "For these also" refers to the eyes and so on. In order to show that establishing the inherent existence of things through establishing and abandoning the objects of cause and effect is meaningless. It is said, "If," and so on. "Straightforward" means that one will quickly attain the state of Buddhahood. "The path of bad reasoning" means that if things exist, then conceptualization exists, so it is the path of bad reasoning. "Extremely crooked" means that even with great effort, that path will not lead to Buddhahood, because the path itself is wrong. "Combined with the bad skill of one's own conceptualization" means that it is both conceptualization and skill, so it is the skill of conceptualization, the act of creating a path, but what is combined with it is not truly existent. "Obstructing the correct path" means obstructing the path characterized by emptiness. "Very difficult" means that the characteristic of establishing the inherent existence of things is very difficult and laborious. Having thus pointed out the faults in establishing things as having inherent existence, now, in order to show that establishing things as having inherent existence is difficult, while establishing things as lacking inherent existence is very easy. It is said, "Furthermore," and so on. "Without things" means apart from things. Thus, inherent nature is other.
